Doreen Leimomi Michiko Higashi
Doreen Leimomi Michiko Higashi, 53, of Kapaa, passed away at Samuel Mahelona Memorial Hospital on July 6, 2018. She was born in Waimea on June 29, 1965.
She was preceded in death by ex-husband Bernard J. Rita Sr., mother Bryd Higashi, father Robert Higashi Sr. and son Bernard J. Rita Jr.
She is survived by daughters Natasha Rita, Malia (Russell) Soares Rita, April Rita and Shirlee Ozaki, nine grandchildren, sisters Blanche Higashi and Tammy (Mativa) Tupe, brothers Dwayne (Tammy) Higashi and Robert Higashi Jr., and numerous aunties, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, July 28, at Kekaha Small Boat Harbor, with visitation from 9 a.m. and services celebrated at 10 a.m. Military honors for Robert Higashi Sr. will be held at 11:50 a.m. A luncheon and scattering of their remains will follow.
Kauai Memorial Gardens &Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
