ANAHOLA — A brush fire near KIUC’s solar farm took about two hours to contain Friday. The fire broke out about 12:30 p.m. and scorched 20 acres. No injuries were reported and no structures were threatened. Kuhio Highway was closed
ANAHOLA — A brush fire near KIUC’s solar farm took about two hours to contain Friday.
The fire broke out about 12:30 p.m. and scorched 20 acres. No injuries were reported and no structures were threatened.
Kuhio Highway was closed in both directions for roughly 15 minutes.
Air 1 and a private helicopter assisted firefighters from the Kapaa and Kaiakea fire stations in controlling the blaze.
It was contained at 2:30 p.m.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
