Captain Terrific (he talks a lot) is in charge of Clayworks at Kilohana (it’s Souper Bowl Sunday time!). He was guarding some of the unglazed soup bowls and cruised near the potter’s wheel while Susan Pittman worked her magic. Susan said if you want to glaze your own bowl, you need to make arrangements this week.
While checking out the Daniel Finchum (he does his own gallery sitting) exhibit at the Kauai Society of Artists gallery in Kukui Grove, Julie McCullen had a seat of honor on one of Daniel’s props (he got it through social media) while Leihi‘ilani Kirkpatrick (she’s a model on one of the pieces) checked out Daniel’s pieces.
Congratulations to Col. Robert Levoit and the Kapaa High School JROTC Unarmed Novice and Exhibition team which finished the competition in first place. Col. Levoit had just come back from the competition and made it to the KIF girls basketball championship playoff Monday night. He said having that halftime performance at a Kapaa home basketball game made a big difference for the cadets performing in front of an audience.
Kudos to Coach Keli‘i Morgado and the Kauai High School athletic department who pulled out all the stops for the game — extra parking, the band ensemble, and even the Chicken Hawk came out for the excitement. Congratulations to Coach James Dingus and the Lady Raiders on taking the title!
