Man struck on Kuhio Highway sustains non-life threatening injuries
LIHUE — A man in a crosswalk was injured Wednesday after being struck by a vehicle.
Police responded to the 9:15 a.m. incident in Lihue. According to a preliminary investigation, a minivan was turning left from Poinciana Street onto Kuhio Highway when the van struck a pedestrian in a marked crosswalk.
The 73-year-old male pedestrian sustained non-life threatening injuries and was transported to Wilcox hospital.
The driver of the minivan, a 58-year-old Lihue woman, was uninjured.
An investigation continues.
