Florence L Loebl

Florence L Loebl, 101 of Honolulu, Hawaii died on Dec. 1, 2016, at home. Born on Nov. 8, 1915, in Koloa, Hawaii. Retired baker from Kaimuki Intermediate School.

She is survived by sons: Arthur (Rhoda), Herkey, and Robert (Lola), 6 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. Celebration of life and burial will take place on Dec. 19, 2016, at The Church of Koloa at 10 a.m.

Fay Hatsue Igawa

Fay Hatsue Igawa of Longbeach, California, passed away at the age of 69 on Nov. 9, 2016, at her residence. Born on Nov. 6, 1947, in Lihue, she was a cost and price analysts.

She is preceded in death by her father, Morito Igawa; and mother, Mumeno M. Igawa.

Fay is survived by her brothers, Bruce Igawa of Hanapepe, and Earl Igawa of Hanapepe; along with numerous uncles, aunts, and cousins.

Memorial Services will be held on Saturday, Dec. 17, 2016, at the Hanapepe United Church of Christ beginning at 11 a.m. with a celebration of her life to be followed. Casual attire is suggested. NoChristmas musical with keiki to kupuna performing with Kauai Unites Theater, a new organization between churches, community.

Arrangements were handled by Garden Island Mortuary, Ltd.

Deborah Lee Byrnes

Deborah Lee Byrnes passed away peacefully in her sleep on Dec. 14, 2016. Her Daughter Jane and Son Jeff were at her side. Deborah was married to Thomas Edward Byrnes for 42 years who passed away earlier this year.

Deborah was a long-time resident of Kauai and was actively involved with the Kapaa Missionary Church where she led bible studies for many years. Deborah and Tom came to Kauai 28 years ago and never looked back. Deborah said the best part about living on Kauai was the warm and open people who live here.

One of her wonderful traits was that she always had a smile on her face. She once said, “If you always smile people smile back”. She was a competitive bridge player and studied Hula. Deborah is survived by her daughter Jane, son Jeff, grandson Blake, and granddaughter Avalon.

Services for Deborah will held on Saturday, Dec. 17, 2016, at 10 a.m. at Kapaa Missionary Church located at 4-758 Kuhio Highway, Kapaa.
