Theresa ‘Daisy’ Silva Ruiz
Theresa “Daisy” Silva Ruiz of Hayward, Calif., passed away Nov. 18, 2016, at the age of 92.
Born in Makaweli on Feb. 4, 1942, she was a radio announcer/singer with the Silva Serenaders on KTOH in the early 1950s. After moving to California she worked as a cook until her retirement.
Theresa is survived by her son Stephen (Yvonne) Ruiz; daughters Sharyn (Earl) Meyer of Florida, Judy (Nick) Verhoek and Melinda McGregor of California; 13 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; one great-great-granchild and numerous nieces and nephews.
A memorial Mass will be celebrated at St. Raphael’s Church in Koloa on Wednesday, Dec. 7, at 9 a.m.
Gregorio Louis Mones
Gregorio Louis Mones, 95, of Oahu, passed away on Oct. 29, 2016. He was born on Dec. 25, 1920.
He is preceded in death by his two young sons Angel and William.
He is survived by his wife of 73 years, Valentina; three daughters Cresencia (Benjamin), Evangeline (Lincoln), Thelma (Ronald); son, George (Kay); 10 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at St. John the Baptist Church, 2324 Omilo Ln., Honolulu on Monday Dec. 5, at 10 a.m. Burial will be at Hawaiian Memorial Park in the State Veterans Cemetery in Kaneohe at 1 p.m.
Birgit Heinemann Landry
Birgit Heinemann Landry of Kalaheo passed away at home on Nov. 27, 2016, at the age of 69. She was born in Wanfried, Germany on March 3, 1947, and was a self-employed bookkeeper.
Preceded in death by her husband, Calvin Roush and daughter, Julie Roush.
She is survived by her son, Brian Roush of Hawaii island; daughter, Nicole Landry of Idaho; mother, Elizabeth Camara of Kalaheo; brother, Wayne (Valerie) Camara of Kalaheo; sister, Brenda (Leonard) Carvalho of Lihue; numerous nieces and nephews.
A celebration of her life was held privately.
Kauai Memorial Gardens & Funeral Home assisted the Landry family with arrangements.
