LIHUE — All of the certified HI5 redemption centers operated by Kauai Community Recycling Services will be temporarily closed beginning Saturday due to mechanical problems with the scale that weighs the containers prior to processing.
The KCRS centers are in Kekaha, Koloa, Kapaa and Kilauea.
Efforts have been made to expedite repair of the scale. KCRS’s centers will resume service once repairs have been made. It is anticipated that these sites will reopen within a week.
The redemption center at the Kauai Resource Center in Lihue, as well as those operated by Reynolds Recycling in Lihue and Kapahi, will be open as usual.
