There has been much confusion on our Friday and Saturday drama “Oh No! My Mother-in-Law is My Niece Now.” Here is an explanation of how this can happen. Hyun-joo was married to Jung-soo but he died in an accident. Jung-soo’s mother Kyung-sook was then Hyun-joo’s mother-in-law. Hyun-joo remarried to Sungtae. Kyung-sook remarried to Bong-joo. Sungtae is the son of Chairman Yang and his second wife. Bong-joo is the grandson of Chairman Yang from his first wife.
Since Sungtae was born in the latter years of Chairman Yang’s life, Sungtae’s age is much younger compared to Bong-joo, who is Sungtae’s nephew, and since Kyung-sook married Bong-joo, she is Sungtae’s niece-in-law, which also means Hyun-joo is Kyung-sook’s aunt-in-law.
