Dominador ‘Dado’ S. Tomacder
Dominador “Dado” S. Tomacder of Wailua House-lots, Kauai, Hawaii passed away on November 6, 2015 at the age of 88.
He was born on July 14, 1927 in Hanamaulu, Kauai, was a Veteran of the National Guard and spent his career as an auto mechanic for Garden Island Motors. He was also a Crossing Guard for Kapaa Elementary School.
“Dado” was preceded in death by his parents, Andres and Victoria Tomacder; wife, Augustina “Tina” Tomacder; sisters, Fausta Tomacder, Remedios “Remy” Aquino and Tinang “Maria” Amorin and brother, Ricarte “Ricky” Tomacder and son-in-law David Torres, Sr.
He will be missed by his sons, Stan (Elizabeth) Tomacder, of Waimea, Sandy (Gloria F.) Tomacder, of Wailua Houselots; daughter, Sally Ann Torres, of Kapaa; sisters, Trinidad Fernandez, of Hanamaulu, Priscilla (Oseng) Miguel, Honolulu; three grandchildren, David Torres, Jr. of Kapaa, Shannon (Victor) Aquino of Texas and Tianee Tomacder of Wailua; three hanai grandchildren, and three great- grandchildren, as well as numerous nieces and nephews, cousins, friends.
Friends may meet with family on Tuesday November 24, 2015 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Lihue.
Visitation is scheduled for 9 a.m. Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Burial will follow at Kauai Memorial Gardens, Kapaia.
Family suggests casual attire.

Theresa A. Fune
Theresa A. Fune, lovingly known as “Aunty Terry,” passed away on October 31, 2015 at the age of 74. She was born in Kapaa, Kauai on October 9, 1941, and was a homemaker and child care provider.
She is preceded in death by her parents Joseph Arruda, Sr. and Mary Victorino Arruda. She is also preceded in death by her brothers Joseph Arruda, Jr., Jordan Arruda, and Donald Arruda; and her sisters Marie Arruda and Georgina Arruda.
Aunty Terry is survived by her husband of 56 years, James Ronald Fune. She is also survived by her sister-in-laws Cathline Broyles, Rose Fune, and Lillian Arruda; and numerous nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews, great-grandnieces and great-grandnephews.
A celebration of Aunty Terry’s life will be held on Saturday, November 21, 2015 at St. Catherine’s Church in Kapaa, Kauai. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 9:45 a.m. with Mass to begin at 10 a.m. and burial to follow at the St. Catherine’s Cemetery.

Hughes Nahuka Naumu
Hughes Nahuka Naumu, 76, passed away on October 7th at his Las Vegas home.
Hughes is survived by his wife, Dorothea Bayot Naumu, of Las Vegas, Nevada; daughter, Yvette Kuulei Gettner, of Scotts Valley, CA; son Nathan Nalei Naumu, of Las Vegas, Nevada; daughter Nadine Haunani Naumu, of Lawai, Hawaii; son, Troy Kaili Naumu, of Las Vegas, Nevada; grandson, Daniel (Jaisa) Ikaika Cummings, of Kapaa; grandson, Timothy (Tiffany) Cummings, of Henderson, Nevada; great-grandson, Kaleb Kainalu Cummings (Timothy); great-granddaughter, Gabrielle Grace Hilinai (Daniel) Cummings; grandson, Nathan Palmore, of Stafford, Virginia; half-sister Arlene Edwards of Tomball, Texas, and large extended family.
He is predeceased by his son, Hughes Nahuka “Tino” Naumu, who died in 2003 in Las Vegas, Nevada.
A private ceremony service was held at Desert Memorial, in Las Vegas, Nevada. Final interment will be held at Kauai Veteran Cemetery, Hanapepe, Hawaii on August of 2016.
Chieko T. Ota
Chieko T. Ota passed away at home on October 17, 2015 at the age of 88. Born on June 30, 1927 in Kilauea, she was a waitress with Fairway Restaurant.
Chieko is preceded in death by her husband, Kikuji Ota and survived by her sisters, Masayo Yoshihara of Kapa’a and Michie Yonekura of Honolulu; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Private services were held and the family requests no koden.

Wayne Clifford Newhouse
Wayne Clifford Newhouse of Kilauea, Kauai passed away in Waimea on November 4, 2015 at the age of 77. Born on April 18, 1938 in Pasadena, California, he was a Construction Company Owner with Newhouse Construction.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Beulabelle Newhouse.
Wayne is survived by his sons, Mark (Kelly) Newhouse of Australia and Sean (Fatima) Newhouse of California; daughters, Talitha (Andrew) Byram of Kilauea, Danielle (Micah) Newhouse of Kapa’a, Vania Pavlov of California, and Carrie Newhouse of O’ahu; 16 grandchildren; brother, Dale Newhouse of California; and sister Kay Muhl of California. Private services were held.

Elizabeth ‘Nohi’ Johnson Ako
Elizabeth Kao “Nohi” Johnson Ako, of Wailua Houselots, Kauai, Hawaii, passed away on November 4, 2015 at the age of 86. She was born on May 15, 1929 in Honolulu, Oahu. Elizabeth worked for the State of Hawaii Library System in both Kapaa and Lihue branches.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Juliette Lahela Huddy-Johnson; sisters, Blanche Kamala Ako, Juliette Leimomi Kalei’ohi, Alethea Queenie Klask, Clarissa Johnson and Lillian Pua Kaimi and her brothers, William Luahine Ferreira Huddy and Fred Johnson, Jr.
Elizabeth is survived by her husband, Valentine “Uncle Val” Ako; daughters, Blanche “Kepola” (Stan) McCabe, Valerie “Nani” (Ernie) Garcia, Julie-Beth “Mamo” Ako and Dana Kaleo Kamai (Hanai daughter); her sons, Ivan K. Ako and Willie K. Pulawa, Jr. as well as seven grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews, cousins and friends.
A celebration of her life is scheduled for Saturday, November 28, 2015 at Koolau Huiia Protestant Church. Visitation will take place at 10 a.m. with Service to follow at 11 a.m. The family suggests casual attire and Leis will be welcomed.

Mildred Haruyo Taniguchi Puni
Mildred Haruyo Taniguchi Puni passed away at home at age of 97 on Thursday, November 5, 2015. Born on April 24, 1918, in Koloa, Kauai, Hawai’i, she was a housekeeper with Wilcox Memorial Hospital.
She is survived by her son, Ernest Puni of Los Angeles, California; daughter, Ellen U. Cabacungan of Mililani, O’ahu, Hawaii; seven grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; six great-great- grandchildren; and two brothers, Paul T. Taniguchi and David Y. Taniguchi of O’ahu, Hawai’i.
A Celebration of Mildred’s life will be held on Saturday, November 21, 2015 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Kalaheo Ward. Services will begin at 9 a.m.
The family requests casual or aloha attire and flowers are welcome.

Kenneth Robert Jones passed away on October 25, 2015 in his home in Pacifica, California.
“Kenny” is survived by his brother, David Jones and 3 sisters; Lorraine Jones, Lynette Jones and Rebecca Jones.

Yoshiko K. Mori
Yoshiko K. Mori, born on July 9, 1920 in California, passed away at Mahelona Hospital on October 27, 2015 at the age of 95.
She is survived by her daughter, Alta Shigeta of Kapa’a; two grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and two sisters, Irene Kuntz of Wisconsin and Kiyoko Sipes of Utah.
Services for Yoshiko Mori were previously held at the Kauai Veteran’s Cemetery.

Evelyn Agcaoili Pascua
Evelyn Agcaoili Pascua of Puhi, Kauai, passed away on October 5, 2015 at Wilcox Memorial Hospital; at the age of 53. Evelyn was born on November 30, 1961, on Kauai. She was raised in Camp 7, Eleele; and graduated from Waimea High School; Class of 1979. Evelyn graduated from Cannon’s Business College on Oahu and Kauai Community College in Business. She was also formerly Miss Gumil Hawaii in 1980.
Evelyn was preceded in death by her father, Manuel B. Agcaoili.
She is survived by her husband, Ludi Pascua, of Puhi, Kauai; 2 sons, Michael Agcaoili and Jordan Pascua,
of Puhi, Kauai; 2 daughters, Cherish Pascua, of Washington State, and Krystle Pascua, of Puhi, Kauai; her mother, Erlinda Agcaoili, of Puhi, Kauai; and brother, Rey (Amy) Agcaoili, and nephews, Reyson, Reygan and Rey C. Agcaoili, of Lihue, Kauai; as well as numerous, nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends.
A Celebration of Evelyn’s Life will take place on Friday, November 20, 2015. Friends may visit with the family from 6:00 – 9:00 p.m. at Borthwick Mortuary Chapel, in Koloa; Again, on Saturday, November 21, 2015, at St. Raphael Catholic Church, in Koloa, from 8:00 till 9:45 a.m. Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. with burial to follow at Kauai Memorial Gardens.
