Gilman ‘Aping’ Naopua Apo
Gilman “Aping” Naopua Apo of Kekaha passed away at Wilcox Memorial Hospital on Oct. 24, 2015, at the age of 69. Born on June 30, 1946, in Waimea, he was a painter with Kauai Test Facility.
He is survived by his wife, Diane Apo; sons, Clynt (Jasmine) Apo of Kekaha, Gilman (Desiree) Koani of Oahu, Jordan Koani of Oahu, and Clifford (Cheri) Matsusaka of Kalaheo; daughters, Gilanne Apo of Kekaha, Sheree (Franklin) Martis of Washington, and Margolyn Koani of Oahu; 18 grandchildren; mother-in-law, Shizue Matsusaka; brothers, Bernard (Sandra) Makuaole of Kekaha, Mitchell (Laverne) Apo of Oahu,Lani “Kaeo” (Debbie) Apo of Waimea, Clifford Apo of Waimea, Roy (Petra) Apo of Nevada, and Hartwell (Judy) Apo of Lawai; sisters, Katherine (Dennis) Eastman of California, Annie (Julian) Lacro of Waimea, Dalphin (Gordon) Tremaine of Oahu, Daphne (Jim) Newman of Washington, and Sandra (Henry) Silva of Hilo; and numerous uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A Celebration of Gilman’s Life will be held on Saturday, Nov. 14, 2015, at Waimea Plantation Cottages, Managers House. Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. with services to follow at 11 a.m.
The family suggests casual attire and flowers are welcomed.

Joseph ‘Joey’ Conrad Kauahi, Jr.
Joseph “Joey” Conrad Kauahi, Jr. passed away at Wilcox Memorial Hospital on Oct. 29, 2015, at the age of 37. He was born on Nov. 19, 1977, in Waimea, Kauai and was an Antenna Rigger with PMRF.
Joey is survived by his wife, Heizel Kauahi; sons, Ayson Kauahi of Hanapepe, Kauai and Aidan Kauahi of Hanapepe, Kauai; daughter, Allysa Kauahi of Hanapepe, Kauai; father, Joseph Conrad Kauahi Sr. of Kekaha, Kauai and mother Cheryl (David) White of West Virginia; brother, Keith Kama Kauahi of Kekaha, Kauai; sisters, Crystal Kanani (Richard) Graham of Sandy, Utah and Leilani Kauinohea Tucker of West Virginia; and numerous uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Friends may visit with the family at the Garden Island Mortuary Chapel on Saturday, Nov. 14, 2015. Visitation will begin at 9 a.m. with an 11 a.m. Mass and burial will be followed at the Kekaha Public Cemetery.
