Happy Camper for Nov. 9, 2014

Carol Sleightam of Portland, Oregon, has been shopping at the Banana Patch Studio (do you realize Joanna Carolan’s honu design was featured in the Architectural Digest?) for as long as she’s visited Kauai, even shopping at the Kilauea store.

Melissa McFerrin of The Shops at Kukuiula said Pono Nero and Lenny Breeze of Pono Breeze (you could see people stomping to the “Auctioneer” way down by Lappert’s) will be part of the upcoming Flavors of Kukuiula event (go early for best parking).

Congratulations to the newest Kauai Police Department officers (Richard T. Love was the lead singer for what band?) who graduated on Friday. Beth Tokioka (Pono fired another good round, 15th place with a 68, Friday at the Kaanapali Classic on Maui) represented Mayor Bernard Carvalho Jr. in congratulating the new graduates.

OK, time to head West —Anna Henriques has the proceeds from the Nightmare in Waimea ready to roll, and Coach Orlando “O” Anaya is doing his swim meet at the Waimea Pool.
