Stephanie Tupou

Stephanie Marie Tupou of Makaweli, Kauai, died on September 2, 2014 at Wilcox Memorial Hospital at the age of 57. Born on February 11, 1957 in Waimea, Kauai, she was a shift manager at ABC Store.

Preceded in dead by her father, Alfredo Yaris. 

She is survived by her long time friend and caregiver Debbie Olores; son, Samisoni (Normalyn) Tupou of Washington; mother, Dolores (Randy) Yaris; brothers, Alfred Yaris of Missouri, Tarrance Yaris of Kaumakani, Nelson (Ronnie) Yaris of California, and Joseph (Misook) Yaris of Las Vegas; sister, Amorita (Patrick) Apilado of Kaumakani; grandchild, Kaden Tupou and hanai-grandchildren, Jaysha, Jaylynn, and Joshua Jr. Olores; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Friends may visit with the family on Saturday, September 27, 2014 at St. Theresa Church from 9 am, followed by celebration of Mass at 10 am. The family requests that flowers be omitted and suggests aloha attire.

Inurnment will be at a later date.

Arrangements were handled by Garden Island Mortuary, Ltd.

Jessie Marie Fong

Jessie Marie Sam Fong of Lihue passed away at home on September 16, 2014, at the age of 73. She was born in Koloa, Kauai on September 21, 1940, and retired as a Food & Beverage Secretary with Coco Palms Hotel.

Preceded in death by her father, Edward Medeiros.

She is survived by her mother, Otilda Medeiros; four children, Gerald (Divina) Rapozo, Sandra (Tom Jr.) Gonsalves, Mel (Patsy) Rapozo, Brian (Noreen) Rapozo; sister, Edwina Saunders; brother, Edward (Jenny) Medeiros; 18 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, 1 great great-grandchild; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, September 27, 2014, at the Kauai War Memorial Convention Hall with visitation from 10:00 a.m. and services celebrated at 12:00 p.m.

Kauai Memorial Gardens & Funeral Home assisted Jessie’s family with arrangements.
