Alice Kaahu

Alice Hiilani Kon Kaahu of Hau`ula, Hawaii died on September 3, 2014 at her home at the age of 73. She was a home maker.

Preceded in death by her brothers Edmond Kon and Albert Kon Jr.

She is survived by her daughters, Marilyn Kaahu, Libby Ann Kaahu, Elmerine Kala’au, Alice M. Kaahu, Sharon Kaahu, Helen Ann Kaahu, and Sonia Jean Kaahu, sons, Elton Kaahu, Albert Kaahu, and Albert A. K. Kaahu; sister, Helen Kon Brede, nieces, Helen “Sweetie” (Robert) Azevedo of Pearl City, Momi Furtado, Lavern Sa, Leona (Robert) Sa McDermott of Anahola. 29 grandchildren and 31 great grandchildren.

Friends may visit the family on September 19, 2014 at Hau’ula LDS Chapel from 9:30 a.m, followed by a celebration of mass at 10:30 a.m. the family asks for casual attire to be worn. Donations may be submitted to muscular dystrophy, and online condolences may be submitted at

Keean Relacion Nuivo

Keean Relacion Nuivo, son of Aaron Relacion and Taytralyn Nuivo, was born and died on September 8, 2014.

He is also survived by one brother, Elijah Relacion; two sisters, Niah Relacion and Kyrie Nuivo; paternal grandparents, Adele Kaui-Santos and Matthew Santos, paternal grandfather, Timothy Relacion; maternal grandparents, Willie and April Nuivo; paternal great-grandmother, Helen Kaui; paternal great-grandfather, Crispin Relacion; maternal great-grandparents, Leslie and Peggy Yaka; maternal great-grandmother, Clara Nuivo; numerous aunties, uncles and cousins.

Private services were held.

Kauai Memorial Gardens and Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements.

Mildred Silva

Mildred R. Silva of Kekaha, Kauai, died on September 14, 2014 at Hale Kupuna Heritage Home at the age of 80. Born on December 11, 1933 in Kalaheo, she was a retired Nurses’ aide with Wilcox.

Preceded in death by her husband, Ernest S. Silva Sr. and daughter, Geraldine Silva.

She is survived by her son, Lloyd D. Silva of Kekaha, daughter, Rosalie (Francis) Niha of Kekaha, brother, William Costa of California, sisters, Henrietta Orsatelli of Eleele and Mertyl Fernandez of California, ten grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.

Services will be held at a later date.

Arrangements were handled by Garden Island Mortuary, Ltd.

Josephine Fodran

Josephine Nacua Fodran of Koloa, Kauai, died on Wednesday, September 10, 2014 at Wilcox Memorial Hospital at the age of 73. Born on July 12, 1941 in Koloa, Kauai, she was a teacher and foster grandparent.

Preceded in death by her parents Pedro Nacua and Inez Mirafuentes.

She is survived by her sons, Rodney (Jennifer) Nacua Fodran Jr. of California and Mark Nacua Fodran of Texas; brothers, Steven (Cindy) Nacua of New York and Mitchell Nacua of Kauai; sisters, Rosalina Molique of California, Bernadette Nunes of Koloa, and Jolene (Tom) Witt of Washington; three grandchildren, and numerous uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Private services were held at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints-Lihue Ward.

Arrangements were handled by Garden Island Mortuary, Ltd.
