Kikuyo Matsushima
Kikuyo Hironaka Matsushima of Kilauea passed away at Wilcox Memorial Hospital on September 25, 2013, at the age of 97. She was born in Waimea, Kauai on March 12, 1916, and retired as a housekeeper with Hanalei Plantation.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Kiyoichi Matsushima.
She is survived by two sons, Royden Matsushima of Kilauea and Davis Matsushima of Kilauea; one daughter, Lorna (Gerald) Kuniyuki of Oahu and one grandchild.
Private services will be held. Family requests no Koden.
Kauai Memorial Gardens & Funeral Home assisted the Matsushima family with arrangements.
Hilario Riofta
Hilario Riofta of Waipahu, Hawaii passed away on Aug. 23, 2013, at the age 63 in Wahiawa, Hawaii. He was born in Santa Catalina, Ilocos Sur, Philippines on March 16, 1950. He was a retired from the U.S. Army as a SFC.
He is survived by his wife, Clemena Riofta; daughters, Katherine (Roman) Zagrodnik; Maezie Mae Arroyo; Sarah (Andres) Casanova; Ashley Riofta; sons, Alexander Riofta; Jonathan Riofta; mother, Lucia Reonal Riofta; sisters, Erlinda Infante and Aida Riofta; brothers; Marcelino Riofta; Pete Riofta; Pat Riofta; five grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews, aunties, uncles and cousins.
Visitation 5:30 p.m. on Sept. 29 at Mililani Mortuary Mauka Chapel. Wake Service 6:30 p.m. Visitation 8:30 a.m. on Sept. 30 at St. Joseph Catholic Church; 94-675 Farrington Hwy., Waipahu.
Mass at 9:30 a.m. with Committal Service at 11 a.m. at Hawaii State Veterans Cemetery. Casual attire and flowers welcomed.
