Alex Perreira
Alex Wayne Perreira of Olympia, Washington, formerly of Lihue passed away on September 18, 2013, at home at the age of 34. He was born on May 15, 1997, in Lihue, Hawaii.
He is survived by his mother, Bernie (Kevin) Devitt of Kapaa; and father, Wayne (Anelle) Perreira of Lihue; four children; Bryan Perreira of Lihue; Aleka Perreira of Washington; Shianne Perreira of Washington; Alex Wayne Jr. of Washington; one hanai daughter, Alauna Carstens of Washington; four brothers, Gregory Perreira of Las Vegas; Matthew (Nicole) Perreira of Washington; Blaine Perreira of Washington; Nicholas Perreira of Lihue; one sister, Amanda Perreira of Lihue; grandmother, Philomena Peralta of Washington; numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 5, 2013 at Lydgate Park – Beachside. Service will begin at 11 am.

Sheridan Lee
Sheridan Lee of Lihue passed away on September 19, 2013 at his home at the age of 95. He was born on February 20, 1918 in China he was a Retired Scientist.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Lee; daughter, Barbara Hill; son: Riley (Patricia) Lee; brother, Peter Lee; 4 Grandchildren and 2 Great Grandchildren.
Memorial services will be celebrated at 10:00 am on Friday October 4, 2013 at Borthwick Mortuary Chapel in Koloa Borthwick/Kauai Mortuary.

Marivic Mariano
Marivic “Mary” Daligcon Mariano of Kekaha, Kauai, Hawaii and resided in Lacey, Washington. She passed away on August 26, 2013 at the age of 31 at her residence in Lacey, Washington. She was born on August 20, 1982 in Waimea, Kauai. She was a preschool teacher for The Foundation Canupos and Community Christian Pre School (CCA).
She was preceded in death by maternal grandfather, Gregario Lorenzo Daligcon.
She is survived By parents, Fernando Mariano and Gloria Daligcon Mariano; brothers, Ferdinand Mariano; James Mariano; Paul Mariano; grandmother, Victoria Daligcon; numerous Aunties & Uncles and nieces & nephews & cousins & friends.
Friends may visit the family on October 5, 2013 at Westside Christian Center. Visitation at 9:00 a.m. Service at 10:00 a.m. Burial to follow at Kekaha Public Cemetery.

Kim Quach Romischer of Lihue, Kauai formerly of California. She passed away on September 16, 2013 at Wilcox Memorial Hospital at the age of 71. She was born on May 2, 1942 In Saigon, Vietnam. She was an Insurance Broker.
She is survived by son, Coy Rebmann, Lihue; one brother and three sisters; one grandson Cole Rebmann, California; Numerous nieces and nephews & cousins & friends.

Ayame Taketa
Ayame Taketa of Lawai passed away on September 19, 2013 at home at the age of 90. She was in born Makaweli, Kauai. She was a retired custodian with Kauai Community College and the State of Department of Agriculture.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Masayoshi Taketa, brother, Yoshio Yanagawa, sisters; Yoshimi Matsuda and Kimie Yanagawa.
She is survived by her sons, Rodney Taketa; Clifton Taketa; daughters, Karen Taketa; Sandra (Steve) Odom; Lani (Dennis) Hennessey; Gladys (John) Taketa-Benton; 8 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Private services were held. Family requests no koden.
John Newman
John “Jack” William Newman, a retired physician of Lihue, Kauai, died peacefully at Garden Isle Health Care on September 25, 2013, at the age of 93 following a brief illness. He was born in Highland Park, Michigan on March 25, 1920 and served in the Pacific during WWII as a United States Naval officer.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Newman; two brothers, Bruce and Eugene.
He is survived by three children, three grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
At John’s request no services will be held. Donations in his memory will be gratefully accepted by Kauai Hospice, 4457 Pahe’e St., Lihue, HI 96766.

Loretta Lopez
Loretta “Lorrie” Paglinawan Lopez of Makaweli, Kauai, Hawaii. She passed away on September 17, 2013 at Kauai Veterans Memorial Hospital at the age of 81. She was born on May 30, 1932 in Pu`unene, Maui. She was a retired custodian for P.M.R.F.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Alejandro & Maria Paglinawan; son, Maurice Lopez.
She is survived by her husband, Moses “Kayo” Lopez, Makaweli; daughters, Doreen (Buz) Vasper, Aiea; Arlene (Tony) Caday, Kalaheo; brother, Danny Paglinawan, Maui; sisters, Florence Albano. Wahiawa and Connie (Conrado) DePeralta, Makaweli; Grandchildren, Larissa (Matt) Morgan, Marissa (Todd Pickering) Vasper, Alika (Michella) Vasper, Brandee (Dave) Abreu, Giselle (Brennen) Bucao, Joslyn (Kahanu)
Wong and 9 great grandchildren, numerous nieces & nephews & cousins and friends.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday October 5, 2013 at Saint Theresa’s Catholic Church, Kekaha. Visitation 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM, Mass to be celebrated at 11:00 AM. Burial will be Private at a later time. Casual attire is suggested.

Michael Kwock Kin Young of Kalaheo passed away at home on September 25, 2013, at the age of 63. He was born in Honolulu, Hawaii on August 16, 1950 and was a Hawaiian musician and composer of Nani ‘O Kaua’i.
He was preceded in death by his father, Edward Young.
He is survived by two sons, Elijah (Velvet) Young of the Big Island, Kuiookalani Young of Oahu; mother, Evelyn Young of Oahu; one brother, Stephen Young of Las Vegas; two sisters Hileah Reigh and Theresa (Al) Doi of Oahu; two grandchildren, Vance and Matea Young; numerous aunties, uncle, nieces, nephews and cousins.
A celebration of his life will be held on Sunday, October 6, 2013, at Prince Kuhio Park beginning at 12:30 p.m. A paddle out service will take place at PK’s. Family requests aloha beachwear and potluck.

Faustino Aluag Ramos of Hanamaulu, Kauai, Hawaii passed away on September 15, 2013 at the age of 88 at his residence. He was born in Brgy 17, Pari-ir, Sarrat, Ilocos Norte, Philippines on February 25, 1925. He was retired stewarding at the Kauai Surf and the Westin Kauai.
He was preceded in death by parents, Maximo & Juana Ramos; son, Urbano Ramos; brothers, Cosme Ramos, Mariano (Lourdes) Ramos; sister, Natividad La Casandile; sister-in-law, Esther Ramos.
He is survived by wife, Patricia Ganotosi Ramos; children, Benjamin (Elsie) Ramos; Pascuala Ramos; Angelita (Aurelio) Ganitano; Felimon (Toring) Ramos; Marina (Remie) Eugenio; Federico (Pacita) Ramos; Julie (Rudy) Barroga; Fredie Ramos; adopted children, Lynna (Russel) Juan; Leslie (Preston) Labuguen; brothers, Ricardo (Bebe) Ramos and Florencio Ramos; sister-in-law, Anita Ramos; 20 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.
