Overlooking the beach on the picturesque South Shore is one of Kaua‘i’s newest and trendiest restaurants. It’s RumFire located in the Sheraton Kaua‘i Resort in Po‘ipu.
RumFire is the vision of Sheraton General Manager Chip Bahouth, who worked diligently to provide a restaurant that caters to both locals and visitors.
Alika Youn, general manager of RumFire, said guests will thoroughly enjoy the signature cocktails created in house.
“We had the pleasure of working with some mixologists who are very talented,” Youn said. “We have a combination of skinny drinks that are very popular.”
The highlights of RumFire are two of it popular drinks: The BOM and the RumFire Mango Mojito, both priced at $10.50.
The BOM
1.25 oz. Thatchers Blood Orange Liqueur
.75 oz. Absolut Mandrin Vodka
.75 oz. Maui Mango Puree
1 oz. sweet and sour mix
Splash of cranberry, topped with 7UP and garnished with an orange wheel
RumFire Mango Mojito
1.5 oz. Old Lahaina Silver Rum
1.5 oz. Maui Mango Puree
1 oz. Roses Lime Juice
Handful of fresh mint
Garnish with a dehydrated mango slice and a mint sprig
The BOM is a sweet and carbonated cocktail that is shaken and great for any occasion. It is the perfect mixture of tropical and citrus fruits. Be careful with this drink: It goes down smooth, and you might develop a tendency to drink it too fast. You’ve been warned.
Opposed to The Bom, the RumFire Mango Mojito will go down a bit slower. It is a smoothie lover’s delight. If you’re in an absolute need to cool off in an instant, the RumFire Mango Mojito will do you justice with its refreshing mint taste combined with its blended-ice texture.
RumFire restaurant is located at 2440 Ho‘onani Rd. in Po‘ipu and is open daily for breakfast from 6:30 to 10:30 a.m. and dinner from 5 to 9:30 p.m.
The bar is open from 5 to 11 p.m. with RumFire’s pure bliss special running daily from 9 to 11 p.m., which boasts $4 domestic draft beer, $5 imported draft beer, $6 wine and cocktails and $10.50 signature cocktails.
