Darlene Leilani Oshiro of Pahoa, Hawai‘i, died on Dec. 22, 2011, at Hilo Medical Center at the age of 56. She was born on March 20, 1955, in Lihu‘e, Kaua‘i. She was a housewife.
She is survived by her husband, Albert Mitsuo Oshiro of Pahoa, Hawai‘i; daughter, Desiree (Roland) Arhelger of Pahoa, Hawai‘i; sons, Keala (Corina) Gorospe of Pahoa, Hawai‘i; Shaston Oshiro of Kaua‘i and Shaidon Oshiro of Pahoa, Hawai‘i; step-daughters, Robin (Taki) Kotani of O‘ahu; Michelle (Rick) Chang of O‘ahu and Jamie Oshiro of O‘ahu; step-son, Miles Oshiro of O‘ahu; mother, Marlyn “Molly” Kuhaulua of Kaua‘i; sisters, Marlyn “Hoku” Souza of Kaua‘i and Luella “Tida” Moniz of Kaua‘i; brothers, Franklin Kelekoma Jr. of Kaua‘i; Kalani (Judy) Kelekoma of Hilo and Kaua‘i; Jeffrey (Carol) Kelekoma of Kaua‘i; Clay (Lenora) Kelekoma of Kaua‘i; Ainsley (Linda) Kelekoma of Kaua‘i and David (Chris) Kelekoma of Kaua‘i; sister-in-law, Tomie Kelekoma of Kauai‘; nine grandchildren; one great-grandchild; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life will be held on Jan. 28 at Hanama‘ulu Beach Park at 11 a.m.
Arrangements are being made by Dodo Mortuary Inc. in Hilo.
Karen Blake
Karen Ruth Blake of Princeville died on Jan. 20, 2012, at the age of 56. She was born in Oakland, Calif., on April 15, 1955, and was the design administrator for the Princeville Community Association.
She is survived by her husband, George Blake; daughter, Amanda Blake; sons, Camren Blake and Devin Blake and one grandson, David Allen Blake-Gallant.
A celebration of her life will be held on Wednesday, Jan. 25, at St. Williams Church in Hanalei with visitation from 9 a.m. and Mass celebrated at 9:30 a.m. Inurnment will follow at St. Catherine Cemetery in Kealia.
Kaua‘i Memorial Gardens & Funeral Home assisted the Blake family with arrangements.
Teruyoshi Tamura
Teruyoshi Tamura of Puhi died on Jan. 18, 2012, at the age of 90. He was born on Feb. 18, 1921.
He was a retired automotive mechanic with Grove Farm Plantation.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Naoichi and Ito Tamura; brother; Harumi Tamura and two sisters, Ichiko Marugame and Kazue Muranaka
He is survived by his wife, Masako Tamura of Puhi; two sons, Stanley (Darlene) Tamura of Hilo, Patrick (Evelyn) Tamura of Idaho and two daughters, Joyce ( Dr. Stanley) Yamane of Florida and Evelyn Tomari of O‘ahu; one brother, Robert Tamura of Lihu‘e, two sisters, Matsuko Daida of Lihu‘e, Akie Sunada of O‘ahu and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Private services will be held at a later date. The family requests no koden.
