Itsuko Tamura
Itsuko Muraoka Tamura of Kilauea died on Jan. 22, 2012, at the age of 89 at Garden Isle Health Care. She was born on Dec. 22, 1922, in Japan and was a retired housekeeping supervisor with Hanalei Bay Resorts and a nurse practitioner before starting a family.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Tatsuo Tamura; daughter, Frances Yamamoto; parents, Yoichi and Sumio Muraoka; brothers, Toshio Muraoka and Shigeto Muraoka and sister, Sugino Muraoka.
She is survived by her son, Lane Tamura of Kilauea; daughters, Victoria (Fred) Wong of Tennessee; Gwen Tamura of Kilauea; grandchildren, Lori (John) Breit of Illinois; Jon (Jo) Wong of Nevada; Lyndsy Tamura of California; Lance Tamura of Kilauea and Levi Tamura of Colorado; great-grandchildren, Samantha Breit, Carolyn-Paige Breit and Gracie Wong; sisters, Tomi Miyoshi of O‘ahu, Sue (Goji) Iwakiri of California and Mitsue Horswill of Maui; sisters-in-law, Michie Yonekura; Masayo Yoshihara; Chieko Ota; Eleanor Tamura and Elaine Tamura; numerous nieces and nephews.
Private services will be held.
Kaua‘i Memorial Gardens and Funeral Home assisted the Muraoka family with arrangements.
Atsushi Ikeda
Atsushi “Hotty” Ikeda of Lawa‘i died on Jan. 16, 2012, at the age of 90.
He was born on Oct. 8, 1921. He entered into the U.S. Army on Jan. 3, 1944, and was honorably discharged on Dec. 8, 1945. He was a Tech 4. He retired from Olokele Sugar Co.
He is survived by his wife, Sachi Ikeda of Lawa‘i; one son, Alyn Ikeda of Honolulu; one granddaughter, Aftin Ikeda of Honolulu and one brother, Toshio “Tenny” (Tsuneyo) Ikeda of Kaumakani; daughter-in-law, Daphne Ikeda of Aiea; nephews, Mitchell (Carol) Ikeda of Lihu‘e; Randy Ono of Lawa‘i; Wayne (Valerie) Ono of Aiea; Renard (Noreen) Saiki of Kahului; Dean (Bernie) Saiki of Kahalui and Patrick (Susan) Ikeda of Honolulu; nieces, Diane (Brian) Turnbull of Camarillo, Calif.; Lorraine (Galen) Yee of Bothel, Wash.; brother-in-law, Masao (Kiyoko) Ono of Lawa‘i; Katsumi (Frances) Ikeda of Lawa‘i; sister-in-law, Fumie Saiki of Kahalui and cousin, Pat Yamaoka of Kaneohe.
Memorial services will be held on Jan. 28 at the Garden Island Mortuary Chapel. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Service to begin at 11 a.m. The family suggests casual attire.

Rosita Padre
Rosita R. Padre of Kilauea, Kaua‘i, passed away on Jan. 16, 2012, at Wilcox Memorial Hospital at the age of 77. She was born on July 27, 1934, in Lanao, Bangui Ilocos, Norte Philippines. She was a homemaker.
She is survived by her husband, Vicente Padre; four daughters, Imelda (Rey) Martinez; Leticia (Edison) Nacapuy; Marilyn (Rommel) Aguinaldo and Rene (Jonah) Fleming; two, sons, Dante (Aida) Padre and Roy (Espie) Padre; one sister, Encarnacion Cadavona; 10 grandchildren, Eunice Padre Sagucio; Donna Jean Nacapuy; Christian George Nacapuy; Brison Alexander Nacapuy; Dave Andrew Aguinaldo; Chelsea Nicole Aguinaldo; Carlo Martinez; Maile Rose Padre; Elizabeth Padre, and Renah Fleming.
Friends may visit with the family on Monday, Jan. 30, at St. Sylvester’s Church in Kilauea from 8 a.m. to 9:45 a.m., where a memorial service will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. and burial to follow at St. Catherine’s Church Cemetery.
