Terry Yagihara
Terry T. Yagihara of Kilauea died peacefully on Friday, Dec. 2, 2011, at home at age 89.
Born Sept. 23, 1922, in Hanalei, he served in the U.S. Army’s 987th Air Engineer Squadron as an interpreter during World War II. He retired from the County of Kaua‘i as a road district clerk.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Saichi and Hagino Yagihara; wife, Audrey Yagihara; and sister, Doris Cabbab.
He is survived by his two sons, Terence Yagihara (Lianne Ching) of Hilo and Scott (SheriAnn) Yagihara of Kilauea; sister, Mabel Sunada, brother, Glenn (Violet) Yagihara; numerous nieces and nephews.
A celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, Dec. 17, at the Garden Island Mortuary Chapel with visitation from 8:30 a.m. and services celebrated at 10 a.m.
