The duo of John Nekomoto and Brian Fujiuchi took top honors at the 2011 Charitable Golf Tournament, recently at the Po‘ipu Bay Golf Course.
The pair finished seventh overall to garner the grand prize for the tournament which served as a fundraiser for the Kaua‘i Veterans Memorial Hospital Foundation, said Steve Kline, the KVMH Director of Occupational Therapy and the tournament chair.
Fujiuchi also copped Closest to the Pin honors at the No. 11 hole.
Gary Saiki, former golf coach for the Kapa‘a High School Warriors, teamed with County Attorney Al Castillo to finish tops overall, Saiki getting Closest to the Pin honors at the No. 7 hole.
Darwin Laguit and Abe Subuma filled in the third berth overall followed by the team of Kyle Parongao and Greg Kenny, Parongao getting the Longest Drive for Men honors at the No. 14 hole.
The team of Susan and Ralph Kelsey copped Highest Score honors.
Other winners included Clyde Takekuma netting Closest to the Pin honors at the No. 3 hole and Al Garces getting the honor at the No. 17 hole.
Kellie Molzhon got Closest to the Pin honors for the Women at the No. 3 hole as well as taking the Longest Drive for Women at the No. 15 hole.
Kathy Corn was Closest to the Pin at the No. 7 and Sandy Honi was Closest to the Pin at the No. 17.
Tyson Moises went home with the special drawing donated by King Auto Center for Closest to the Pin at the No. 7 hole.
