WAILUA — The Kaua‘i Motocross Riders Association’s last race of the year took a week later than expected to get going, but once it did, the wait was worth it.
The Nov. 13 race — originally slated for Nov. 6 but delayed due to weather — at the Wailua Motocross Track had lots of points on the line with regard to riders’ scores throughout the year.
On the keiki track, it was Po’okela Silva taking first in the 50-C class followed by Talon Goias-Arzadon, Kaimana Kaui, Kamu Santiago and Eddie Silliman.
In the 50-B class it was Braysen Ornellas-Silva in first and Alexander Nelson second with Channyn Moke third for his first ever motocross race. Richard Silliman was the lone rider in the 50-A class.
On the main track, KMRA President Paul Medeiros charged hard and got around Puncho Lopez in both heats to win in the Quad class.
Brandon Carvalho took first with Zack Young, Koa Estrella, Brian Medeiros and Chava Greenlee filling the other positions in the 250 Expert class. Carvalho also took first in the 125 Expert class.
Robby Silva Jr. took first place in the 250 Amateur class. Bryson Yoro was second with Randall Osakoda, Branden Orsatelli and Darrell Dabin rounding out the rest of the class.
In the 125 amateur class Bryson Yoro took the overall win followed by Brad Stewart, Kai Haughland and Jackson Littlefield.
In the 65 class Kory Bunao took the win while Traytin Barretto, Richard Silliman and Tyler Hirakawa filled in the rest of the class.
Treysen Barretto took the overall win in the 85 class followed by Bryzen Cadiz, Shilo Nobriga-Harper, Hayden Merkel, Donavan Gomes and Thor Haughland.
The Open “B” class winner was Kai Haughland, with Treysen Barretto, Jim Littlefield and Dean Silliman rounding out the rest of the class.
Vet class winner was Zack Young followed by Chava Greenlee and Riley Takayama. In the Masters class Jeff Gallardo took the win over Craig Arzadon, Dean Silliman and Jim Littlefiled.
