Several North Shore residents reported seeing strange multi-colored lights in the sky Wednesday evening, followed by a ‘constant rumbling’ that lasted for about 20 minutes, according to Princeville resident Lois Benson. It turns out there were no alien spaceships landing on Kaua‘i; apparently some motorcycle owners were having a ball, launching fireworks in the sky, as this picture shows. But was it legal? The law states only licensed pyro-technicians with proper permits can ignite aerial fireworks. And even then, there are only a few number of holidays in which fireworks are allowed, and Wednesday, International Day of Peace, was not one of them.
