Adric, Lai win spearfishing challenge

The pairing of Hanalei Adric and Calvin Lai took took first place at the Kaua‘i Spearfishing Challenge 2011 held on June 25. The challenge was an invasive species event that included Roi, To‘au and Ta‘ape. Normally the boundaries are set for only the Kapa‘a area, but due to weather conditions they were set to the entire island.



Kaua‘i Spearfishing Challenge 2011 Results:

 Results based on a total aggregate point system of 3 points 

 per Roi and 1 point per To‘au and/or Ta‘ape:

 1st — Hanalei Adric & Calvin Lai            100 pts.

 2nd — Jared Furusho & Kevin Sakuda      87 pts.

 3rd  — Kalika Wong & Danny DeFries       86 pts.

 4th  — Nester Gorospe & Bronson Beyer  60 pts.

 Largest Roi: Spencer Haskins & Mike Jutt  5.2 lbs.
