LIHU‘E — The KSC-Blazing Angels and Lokahi battled to a 4-4 stalemate in the Kaua‘i Soccer Association Under 14 division, Saturday at the North Vidinha fields.
Three ties in the Under 10 and 12 divisions filled the day with exciting matches as KSA comes down to its final regular-season games, Saturday starting at 8 a.m. at the North Vidinha fields.
Jane Garma, the KSA scorekeeper, said following this weekend’s matches, the top four in the division advance to the playoffs.
Team Onipa‘a BU10 battled Pohaku BU10 to two 0-0 stalemates and the Westside Falcons GU10 played Team Onipa‘a GU10 to a 1-1 deadlock in the Under 10 division.
The Westside Falcons BU12 battled the Kaua‘i Bulls to a pair of 1-1 deadlocks in the Under 12 division, followed by the Kaua‘i Sparks and Kilalei scrapping to a 0-0 tie.
In the Under 16 division, the Warriors 1 battled the Warriors 2 to a 2-2 stalemate to round out Saturday’s even contests.
Heading into the final games, all four teams in the Boys Under 8 will advance to the playoffs in the four-team field.
The Herricanes, with their 2-0 win over Team Onipa‘a GU8 Saturday, lead the GU8 division with a perfect 7-0-2 record, while Team Onipa‘a GU8 dropped to third place with a 5-3-1 record. At stake is the remaining spot between Makani (1-8-1) and Makani Gold (1-7-1).
The Northshore Green Devils, with a 2-0 win over GIFC Red BU10, hold the top spot in the BU10 with a 7-1-2 record, while the GIFC Red BU10 dropped to 0-7-1.
Following the lead, a tight race remains for second through fourth places as Team Onipa‘a BU10 (3-2-4), Pohaku BU10 (3-3-3) and Westside Falcons BU10 (2-2-4) are separated from each other by just a point.
Pohaku GU10 was a 3-0 winner over the Kilauea Strikers to remain undefeated at 8-0-1 in the GU10 division, while the Strikers fall to 1-5-3.
Team Chikara holds a solid No. 2 spot at 5-2-2, followed by Team Onipa‘a GU10 (2-6-2) and Westside Falcons GU10 (2-2-4).
Westside Falcons BU12 leads the BU12 division at 6-1-2, followed by the Kaua‘i Bulls (3-4-2) and the GIFC Orange BU12 (2-6-1).
Kaua‘i Sparks (8-0-1) top the GU12 division, followed by Kilalei (4-2-2), the Kaua‘i Extreme Strikers (4-5-0), Team Onipa‘a GU12 (3-5-0) and KSC-Blazing Angels (1-8-1).
The Westside Falcons BU14 (6-3-1) lead the BU14 division, followed by the GIFC White BU14 (7-2-1) and Northshore (1-9-0).
The KSC Blazing Angels top the GU14 division with an undefeated 9-0-1 record, followed by the GIFC Blue GU14 (5-3-1), FC Northshore (4-3-2), Lokahi (1-5-2) and Team Onipa‘a GU14 (0-8-0).
Team Motiv-8 is undefeated in the BU16/U18 division at 3-0-1, followed by the Warriors 1 (2-0-3), Warriors 2 (0-2-3) and Warriors 3 (0-3-1).
KSC-Na Anela leads the GU16/U18 with a 3-1-1 record, followed by Ha‘aheo Kaua‘i (1-3-1).
