Antone Bonilla
Antone Bonilla of Kapa‘a died March 11, 2010, at his home at age 82. Born on Oct. 25, 1928, in Kaua‘i, he was retired from Mahelona Hospital.
He was preceded in death by his wife Ramona “Mona” Bonilla.
He is survived by his sons Gordon (Michelle) Bonilla, Dennis (Wendy) Bonilla and Tony (Keiki) Bonilla; daughters Debbie Bonilla, Suzie (Robinson) Otei and Tara Bonilla; 10 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Visitation at 9 a.m., service at 10:30 a.m., on Wednesday, March 17, at Borthwick Kaua‘i Mortuary. Burial to follow at Kaua‘i Veterans Cemetery.
Arrangements are being handled by Borthwick Kaua‘i Mortuary.
Ismael Garcia
Ismael L. Garcia of Kapa‘a died at Wilcox Memorial Hospital on March 10, 2010, at age 96. Born in Pasuquin, Ilocos Norte, Philippines on March 22, 1913, he was a loader with Lihu‘e Plantation Company.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Angela Garcia; son, Francisco Garcia; grandson, Ronald Garcia; parents, Silvano and Francisca Garcia; sisters, Vicenta Garcia, Felicidad Calpito, Felipa Soller, Tomasa Garcia; and son-in-law, Manuel Manguchei Jr.
He is survived by his son, Prudencio (Edita) Garcia of Puhi; daughters, Mary Manguchei of Kapa‘a, Pat (Marcos) Aguda of Las Vegas, Ellen (Joseph) Rosa of Lihue; daughter-in-law, Victoria Garcia of Hanamaulu; grandchildren, Florante Garcia, Susan Garcia, Dennis (Marie Rose) Garcia, Janice (Erin) Zoll, Albert Garcia, Erick Manguchei, Orlando Manguchei, Jeff (Melisa) Garcia, Zelda (Buddy) Viernes, Bernadette Garcia, Leilani (Brett) Penny, Shelly (Christopher) Marquez, Mark Patrick (Miriam) Aguda; 26 great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 8:30 to 9:45 a.m. on Saturday, March 20, at Immaculate Conception Church and Mass 10 a.m. Burial to follow at Kauai Memorial Gardens.
Kauai Memorial Gardens & Funeral Home assisted the Garcia family with arrangements.
Elsie Agan
Elsie Agan of Kapa‘a died March 10, 2010, at home at age 67. Born Feb. 27, 1943, in Waimea, Kaua‘i, she was a resident with the Steadfest family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Cornelio Mier and Lucia Bruce Mier.
She is survived by five sons, Stanley Agan Jr. of Waimea, Reynald Gene (Dolly) Agan of Hanapepe, Patrick (Maricel) Agan of Kalaheo, Derreck (Melinda) Agan of ‘Oma‘o and Darin (Ding) Agan of Las Vegas; four grandchildren; one great-grandchild; brother, Clarence (Carmen) Mier of O‘ahu; sisters, Mary Otlang of Kalaheo, Dolores (Jaime) Roldan of O‘ahu and Connie (Raymond) Agan of California.
Services will be held on Saturday, March 27, at Holy Cross Catholic Church, with visitation from 9 to 11 a.m. and Mass at 11 a.m. Casual attire is suggested and flowers are requested to be omitted.
Arrangements are being handled by Garden Island Mortuary.
Mitsuno “Joyce” Hada
Mitsuno “Joyce” Hada of Kaumakani died March 1, 2010, at Kaua‘i Veterans Memorial Hospital at age 85. Born Jan. 2, 1925, at Waimea, Kaua‘i, she was a cook with Green Garden.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Mitsuji “Oscar” Hada, and parents, Kamado and Kame Akamine.
She is survived by her son, Rudy Ordinario of Texas; three grandchildren; brother Sadamu Akamine of Kekaha; sister Yachiyo Nakamatsu of Lawai; numerous nieces and nephews.
Services were private.
