The Kapa‘a High School softball team will play Mililani and Kalaheo high schools when the Waimea High School Softball Invitational opens Thursday at the Waimea Canyon Park.
Kaua‘i High School will test its lineup against Mililani and Mid-Pacific Institute while host Waimea will be up against Pac 5 and Pearl City.
Games on the opening day of the three-day tournament start at noon, Thursday when Kapa‘a goes up against Mililani.
That game will be followed by Kaua‘i taking on Mililani starting at 1:30 p.m.
Waimea will open against Pac 5 starting at 3 p.m.
There are 10 teams, including the three from Kaua‘i’s high schools participating in the annual tournament on the Westside.
Teams are broken down into the White and Blue pools, playing two games on Thursday and Friday for seeding positions for the championship day, Saturday.
Each team will be playing two games each on Thursday and Friday.
Kapa‘a and Kaua‘i are in the White pool and join Mililani, Kalaheo and Mid-Pacific.
Waimea is in the Blue pool and joins Campbell, Iolani, Pac 5 and Pearl City.
The tournament championship game will start at 3 p.m., Saturday at the Waimea Canyon Park.
