Kaua‘i Orchestra will perform one free public concert. Enjoy great performances presented by the community for the community. This is Kaua‘i’s only orchestra and includes many of the island’s best classically trained musicians. Reservations are not required and seating is open.
The orchestra is conducted by Maestro Larry McIntosh. The program will include: Salute to the Cinema; Tchaikovsky’s Serenade for Strings; String Orchestra Shaddat Shalom Traditional; Mozart, Piano quartet in G minor. Featuring: Gerald Tomory, piano; Kaycee Parker, violin; Dennis Haack, viola; Paul Olson, cello.

This chocolate seminar and workshop will teach participants about Kaua‘i-grown cacao. Learn how it’s propagated, processed and made into finished chocolate, as well as the health benefits and cultural significance. Folks attending will taste locally grown and processed chocolate as well as fine chocolates from other regions; prepare and sample the coconut butter truffles that won the People’s Choice Award and Best Dessert at the 2009 Healing Garden Festival. Attendees will take home freshly made Kaua‘i chocolate for gifts or to enjoy during the holiday season. Space is limited. This fundraiser for a village in Western Samoa is organized and lead by Fred Atkins and Nani Marston to help Chief Joe Annandale rebuild Poutasi. The musical line-up includes Ernie Cruz, Makana, Donavan Frankenreiter, Titus Kinimaka,“Mike Young and Da Bruddah’s Jonah Cummings; Darryl Gonzales and Greg Mirra; Shilo Pa, Kalei Marston and Haunani Marston. There will be dancing with Solidarity and a tribute to Samoan Fire and Hawaiian dance by the cast of Luau Kalamaku. Doors open at 4:30 p.m. with no host food and beverage.
