Paul N. Miyamoto of Kapa‘a died Nov. 30, 2009, at Wilcox Memorial Hospital at age 69. Born on May 2, 1940, in Lihu‘e, he worked for Hawaiian Tel.
He was preceded in death by his parents James and Agnes Miyamoto, and sister Clara Makizuru.
He is survived by his companion Flora Kahaunaele; brother David Miyamoto of Lihu‘e; sisters Janet (Charles) Niitani of Lihu‘e and Mae Sekiya of Mililani; uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation from 4 to 5 p.m., service at 5 p.m., on Friday, Dec. 11, at Lihu‘e Hongwanji Mission.
Casual attire is suggested and the family requests that flowers be omitted.

Lyons “Curly” Keopuauheelani Perry died Nov. 23, 2009, at Kaua‘i Veterans Memorial Hospital at age 40. Born on Oct. 9, 1969, in Honolulu, he was a terminal operator for Chevron Corporation.
He is survived by his parents Maxine Iha and William Perry; wife Vivian Perry; sons Kurt Perry and Kory Perry; daughter Gezmynn (Levi) Viquelia; brothers Kalani Perry, John Perry and Kaipo Perry; sister Anela Delima; grandson Kanale Viquelia; numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation at 10 a.m., service at 11 a.m., on Friday, Dec. 11, at Koloa Missionary Church. Casual attire is suggested.

Gary Iida
Gary Jiro Iida of Kapa‘a died Dec. 2, 2009, at Wilcox Memorial Hospital at age 64. Born on June 27, 1945, in Lihu‘e, he was a retired mason with Kaua‘i Builders.
He was preceded in death by his father Katsuaki Iida and stepfather Crespin Ringor.
He is survived by his daughter Shann (Ray) Andrews of Florida; mother Misao Ringor of Lihu‘e; siblings Carol Toyofuku of O‘ahu, Larry (Arlene) Iida of Wailua Houselots, Karen Iida of Anahola, Leonard (Janice) Ringor of Hanama‘ulu, Kathleen (Seeper) Soogrim of Lihu‘e; caregivers Randall and Lynko Yamamoto and family, and Duwayne and Gail Sandberg; two grandchildren; numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Private services will be held at a later date. Family requests no koden.

Benito Sarmiento
Benito Urbien Sarmiento of Kekaha died Nov. 15, 2009, at Kaua‘i Veterans Memorial Hospital at age 64. Born on March 21, 1945, in Magsingal Ilocos, Philippines, he was a retired plant processor with Meadow Gold Dairies.
He was preceded in death by his parents Luis and Elena Sarmiento.
He is survived by his wife Emerita “Amy” Sarmiento, son Elmer Sarmiento, brother Domingo Sarmiento, sisters Nemisa Unciano and Eugenia Realon and three grandchildren.
Visitation at 8:30 a.m., Mass at 10 a.m., on Saturday, Dec. 12, at Saint Theresa’s Catholic Church in Kekaha. Casual attire is suggested and the family requests that flowers be omitted.

Dorothy Shrader Nakea of Princeville died Nov. 21, 2009, at Straub Clinic and Hospital at age 70. Born on July 3, 1939, in Tarrytown, N.Y., she was a property manager.
She is survived by her husband Robert K. Nakea III; sons Robert W.L. Nakea of Illinois and Christopher D.K. Nakea of Seattle, Wash.; daughter Suzanne Nakea Miller of Seattle, Wash.; two grandchildren; brother Dr. Welman Shrader of Santa Fe, N.M.
Service at 11:30 a.m., on Sunday Dec. 13, at Church of the Pacific in Princeville. Aloha attire is suggested. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation.

Hideko Koigawachi of Kapa‘a died Nov. 20, 2009, at Samuel Mahelona Memorial Hospital at age 102. Born on Aug. 24, 1907, in Lihu‘e, she was a homemaker.
She is survived by her sons Gordon (Elsie) of Kapa‘a, Bach (Mildred) and Hideo (Nancy) of Los Angeles; daughter Yoshie Saiki of Hilo; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Services were private.

Paula Yadao Cadaoas of ‘Oma‘o died Dec. 6, 2009, at Wilcox Memorial Hospital at age 79. Born on July 6, 1930, in Kilauea, she retired as a district court clerk with the judiciary court.
She was preceded in death by her son Steven S. Cadaoas; parents Apolinario and Ambrocia Yadao; sisters Eleanora Basuel, Esmenia Barba, Felipa Manuel, Gloria Acoba and Florentina Fedalizo; brother Cesario Yadao.
She is survived by her husband Santiago Q. Violet Yukiko Sato of ‘Ele‘ele died Nov. 26, 2009, at Kaua‘i Veterans Memorial Hospital at age 83. Born on Dec. 13, 1925, in Koloa, she was a seamstress with Iolani Kaua‘i.
She was preceded in death by her brother Tetsuo Konishi.
She is survived by her husband George M.
