Eileen Gonzalez
Eileen Gonzalez of Kailua-Kona, Hawai‘i died Nov. 3, 2009, at age 39. Born on Aug. 8, 1970, in the Philippines, she worked at Walmart.
She is survived by her husband Martin Gonzalez of Kailua-Kona; son Bryson Gonzalez of Hilo; daughters Cassandra Gonzalez, Amanda Gonzalez and Angelica Gonzalez all of Kailua-Kona; brothers Edgardo Coloma and Edward Coloma of Kaua‘i and Christopher Coloma of Afganistan; two nephews and two nieces.
Service from 10 a.m. to noon, on Saturday, Nov. 14, at St. Catherine’s Catholic Church in Kapa‘a. Burial to follow at St. Catherines Kealia Cemetery.
Arrangements are being handled by A Hui Hou Crematory and Funeral Home of West Hawai‘i.
George Bobiles
George B. Bobiles of San Jose, Calif. died Oct. 9, 2009, at Good Samaritan Hospital in Santa Clara, Calif. at age 61. Born on June 11, 1948, in Waimea, Kaua‘i, he was a floral designer for Micheals.
He was preceded in death by his parents Angel Bobiles and Carlina Bobiles.
He is survived by his children Tanya (Isaiah) Martinez, Danielle (Jeff) Marchent, Erin (Marnelle) Sheriff, Sam (Kim) Bobiles and Dominic Bobiles; 10 grandchildren; siblings Angela (Terrance) Parker, Allen (Nieves) Bobiles, Marilyn (Jace) Bobiles, Jeffrey (Vanessa) Bobiles; long time friends Antonio Radilla and Rueben Martinez of San Jose, Calif.; numerous nieces, nephews, aunties, uncles and cousins.
Services were held in San Jose, Calif. on Oct. 10, 2009.
Services on Kaua‘i will be private.
Rita Kiyabu
Rita S. Kiyabu of Kapahi died Nov. 10, 2009, at Garden Isle Healthcare at age 85. Born on Sept. 6, 1924, in Kaua‘i, she was a retired LPN nurse from Samuel Mahelona Hospital.
She was preceded in death by her parents Busuke and Kama Kiyabu, brothers Buzen and Takeo Kiyabu and sisters Hatsuko and Matsuko Kiyabu.
She is survived by her son Michael (Lori Degracia) Kiyabu; sister Theresa Braun; grandchildren Michael K.G. Kiyabu and Lori G.K. (Glen) Balisacan; great-grandchild Norven K. Balisacan.
Visitation at 9:30 a.m., Mass at 10:30 a.m., on Tuesday, Nov. 24, at Saint Catherine’s Catholic Church in Kapa‘a. Reception to follow; scattering of ashes will be private.
Arrangements are being handled by Borthwick Kaua‘i Mortuary in Koloa.
