Isidoro Abuan
Isidoro Lorenzana Abuan of ‘Ele‘ele died Nov. 1, 2009, at at Kaua‘i Veterans Memorial Hospital at age 87. Born on Dec. 3, 1921, in Urdaneta, Pangasinan, Philippines, he retired from Olokele Sugar Plantation.
He was preceded in death by his parents Pedro and Teodora Abuan; brothers Sylvestre and Juan and sister Esperanza.
He is survived by his wife Tina; sons Royland (Rodelia) Abuan of Wailuku, Maui and Clifton Abuan of ‘Ele‘ele; daughters Josephine Abuan of Beaverton, Ore. and Drena Abuan (Dean Ando) of Washington; three grandchildren Brandee, Breeann and Blakelee; numerous nieces and nephews.
Viewing from 6 to 9 p.m., on Friday, Nov. 13, at St. John’s Episcopal Church in ‘Ele‘ele. Viewing again from 9 to 11 a.m., service at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 14, at St. John’s Episcopal Church in ‘Ele‘ele. Burial at Hanapepe Public Cemetery. Casual attire is suggested.

George Yamashita
George Kealoha Yamashita of Hanama‘ulu died Nov. 4, 2009, Wilcox Memorial Hospital at age 58. Born on Feb. 9, 1951, in Honolulu, he was a construction worker at Kamehameha Schools.
He is survived by his wife Arde Yamashita; children Bobbi “Kalei” (Raymond) Lum King, Corrine “Mahi” (George) Potts, both of Honolulu and George “Aukai” Yamashita of Lihu‘e; stepchildren Ardeen “Nalani” Nobriga, Mahealani Corpuz, Henry “Kalani” (Cathie) Long IV, all of Maui, Thomas “Kala” Long of Honoka‘a and Robert “Kilo” (Sam) Long of Lihu‘e; brothers Paul (Treasure) Yamashita of Maui and Michael (Cindy) Yamashita of Waimanalo; sisters Rosella “U‘I” (Bobby) Makua of Waimanalo, Bobbi Lynn (Narciso) Eugenio of Papakolea, Lori Ann (Kevin) Firth of O‘ahu; 29 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation from 9 to 11 a.m., service at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 14 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Stake Center Lihu‘e.
Casual attire is suggested and leis of aloha are welcome.

Flora Fung Kyau Lee of Honolulu died Oct. 22, 2009, at Manoa Senior Care Home at age 93. Born on April 24, 1916, in Halawa, she was a retired school cafeteria manager at Nimitz Elementary school in Honolulu.
She was preceded in death by her husband Richard Y.K. Lee, sisters Irene Lum and Alma Lee and brother Robert Lee.
She is survived by her daughters Lynette (Glen) Magree and Donna (David) Stewart; son Randy (Cheryl) Lee; sister Jennie In; brothers Ah Fat and Clarence Lee; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Viewing at 3:30 p.m., service at 4:30 p.m., on Friday, Nov. 13, at Church of the Crossroads located at 1212 University Avenue in Honolulu. Burial at 10 a.m., on Saturday, Nov. 14, at Hawaiian Memorial park in Kaneohe.
Aloha attire is suggested. Donations can be made to the Church of the Crossroads or UCC Transition House in Honolulu.
