Adelino Valentin died Nov. 6, 2009, at Wilcox Memorial Hospital at age 89. Born on Nov. 18, 1919, in the Philippines, he was a retired manager.
He is survived by his wife Lucia Valentin of Lihu‘e; son Adelino (Suzanne) Valentin Jr. of Colorado; daughter Delia (Morgan) Valentin-Liddell of Wailua; grandsons Marc Valentin of Wailua, Nathan Valentin of Colorado, Adam Valentin of Colorado, Kevin Valentin Skaer of Colorado; two great-grandsons and one great-granddaughter.
Visitation at 10 a.m., service at 11 a.m., on Saturday, Nov. 21, at Lihu‘e Christian Church. The family requests that flowers be omitted.
Arrangements are being handled by Borthwick Kaua‘i Mortuary.
Lillian T. Nakamura of Kapa‘a died Oct. 26, 2009, at Garden Isle Healthcare at age 86. Born on Aug. 20, 1923, in North Kahala, Hawai‘i, she was a homemaker.
She was preceded in death by her parents Takijiro and Hisayo (Fukunaga) Okubo; brothers Takiji, Richard Takinobu and Takito Okubo; sisters Akiko Ladrillono, Mildred Kawakami and Margaret Ishihara.
She is survived by her husband Kazuto Nakamura; daughter Renee (Wayne) Sadang; brother William Okubo; sister Sueko Tanahara; two grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation at 1 p.m., service at 2 p.m., on Saturday, Nov. 28, at Honpa Hongwanji Hawai‘i Betsuin in Honolulu, O‘ahu. Casual attire is suggested and the family requests that flowers be omitted.
Arrangements are being handled by Borthwick Kaua‘i Mortuary in Koloa.
