808 Dragons baseball tryouts
Any players interested in trying out for the 808 Dragons 9-12 year-old baseball team will be able to at 1 p.m. on Oct. 25 at a field to be announced later.
All players are required to bring with them a birth certificate, a waiver form and a non-refundable check for $20 made payable to 808 Dragons.
All participants will be run through drills and tested for speed and power.

Kalawai Youth Baseball sign-ups
Registration for youth ages 4-12 years old is taking place by the Kalawai Youth Baseball program.
Sign-up dates are Oct. 7-8, Oct. 12, Oct. 14, Oct. 20 and Oct. 22 from 5 to 7:30 p.m. at the Kalaheo Neighborhood Center.
Registration forms can be downloaded from the Kalawai Web site at www.kalawaibaseball.com and applicants need to bring three copies of their birth certificate, medical insurance card and the completed registration form.
If the player participated in the league in 2008, only one copy of the forms need to be turned in with the registration.
Leagues involved in the registration are the Shetland, Pinto, Mustang and Bronco programs.
A skills day program for Shetland and Pinto players is scheduled in November.
Registration fees are $50 per player for Shetland and Pinto programs and $100 per player for the Mustang and Bronco programs.

Charity golf tournament at Po‘ipu
The West Kaua‘i Medical Center/KVMH will be holding its fifth annual charity golf tournament on Oct. 25 at Po‘ipu Bay Golf Course.
The format will be a two-person scramble, with 20% of combined team handicap.
Morning sign-ins will be at 7 a.m. with an 8 a.m. shotgun start.
A $100 entry fee includes greens fees, door prizes, golf carts and lunch.
Monies will go to benefit hospital programs and acquire medical equipment for the KVMH Charitable Foundation.
