Ross Brun scorched the stopwatch with a go of 5.965 seconds, competing in the Jr. Wrangler Division at the first and second rodeos of the Kaua‘i Keiki and High School Rodeo Association’s 2009-10 season on Saturday. Brun was named Reserve All-Around Cowboy in the first competition, then took home All-Around Cowboy honors in the second. In the High School Division, Rodeo No. 1, Kelli Carveiro was named All-Around Cowgirl, with Taylor Ludington named as reserve. Brystin Vierra and Cory Carveiro tied for All-Around Cowboy honors, while Marcus Shimogawa was given reserve honors. In Rodeo No. 2, Carveiro again took the All-Around Cowgirl title, while Britni Ludington-Braun was named reserve. All-Around Cowboy again went to Vierra and Shimogawa nabbed reserve honors again. In the Jr. Wrangler Divisions, Kristy Pimental was the All-Around Cowgirl in each rodeo, with Cheyenne Andrade and Keani Palama getting reserve honors. Clint Matias was the first All-Around Cowboy, finishing just ahead of Brun, while the two switched finishing spots in the second competition. In the 3rd-5th Grade Division, Kiara Ruiz was named All-Around Cowgirl with Morgyn Fu as reseve. Dustin Rita took All-Around Cowoy, with Koby Blackstad named reserve. Nicole Medeiros was top Cowgirl in the K-2nd Grade Division and Keanu Fernandez was All-Around Cowboy with Makena Murayama as reserve.
