Parvati Sabaratnam
Parvati Sabaratnam of Pepeekeo died Aug. 29,2009, at her home at age 67. Born in Tennessee, she retired as a waitress for the Kona Surf and King Kamehameha hotels.
She is survived by her daughters Sarasvati Crider of Mountain View and Debbie Brett-Villalobos of Utah; sons Varuna (Rhonda) Sabaratnam of Pahoa and Bobby Brett of California; 18 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Private services will be held. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to her church.

Birdie Miliaikeala Dias of Lihu‘e died Sept. 5, 2009, at Wilcox Memorial Hospital at age 97. She retired from the State Department of Transportation.
She was preceded in death by her parents Richard and Jennie Dias; brothers Ernest (Julia) Dias, Samuel (Elizabeth) Dias, William Dias, Tony Dias, Richard (Lydia) Dias; sisters Jennie (Frederick) Schumacher and Susan Dias; hanai daughter and niece Beryl (Bruhn) Mapuana Dias.
She is survived by her hanai daughter and niece Harriette Ululani Dias Yoshino of Lihu‘e; nieces Barbara (Edward) Bales of Lihu‘e, Geraldine (George) Willing of O‘ahu, Frances Koo of O‘ahu and Juliette Branigan of Las Vegas; nephews Donald (Twila) Dias of O‘ahu, Richard K. Dias of Waimea, Barton K. Dias of Washington, Gregory R. Dias of Washington; hanai granddaughters and nieces Karen (Claude) Lumacad of Koloa, Lianne Yoshino of Lihu‘e, Noreen (Kurt) Javinar of Hanama‘ulu, Else (Jesse) Gurao of Lihu‘e, Elizabeth (Chauncey) Wallwork of Kailua, O‘ahu and Paula (Sivan) Leoni of Kaneohe, O‘ahu; hanai great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews, Nicole and Jason Lumacad, Lee Kamuela Yoshino, Kurtis, Kolby and Keenan Javinar, Isaac and Amber Lopes, Elijah Guirao, Chante Wallwork, Tiara and Travis Mundon, Shaun Ah Mow, Teva Leoni; hanai great-great-grandchild Kainalu Lumacad-Aguinaldo; numerous grandnieces and grandnephews, great-grandnieces and great-grandnephews and great-great-grandnieces and great-great-grandnephews.

Javieanne Jarina Hauoli Abiley Win died on Sept. 6, 2009, at Hilo Medical Center at age 5. She was born on Nov. 18, 2003 in Hilo.
She is survived by her mother Jennifer Abiley of Hilo; father Valerio Win of Aiea; grandparents Martina Pingan of Chuuk, Gerald A. and Margie Abiley of Hilo; uncle Gerald K. (Shellen Sarmiento) Abiley of Kaua‘i; aunties, uncles and cousins.
Viewing at 9 a.m., service at 12 p.m., on Saturday, Sept. 19, at Borthwick Hawai‘i Funeral Home. Burial at Alae Cemetery at 2 p.m.

Edward Fujii
Edward Hiroshi Fujii of Lihu‘e died Sept. 11, 2009, at his home at age 72. Born on Nov. 9, 1936, in Honolulu, he was a meter reader with Kaua‘i Board of Water.
He was preceded in death by his parents Sadayoshi and Grace Fujii.
He is survived by his wife Grace Fujii; sons Clinton (Danette) Fujii of Lihu‘e and Troy (Cori) Fujii of Hilo; daughter Sherri (Wayne) Takamoto of Honolulu; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; brother Raymond (Chiaki) Fujii of Honolulu and sister Clara (Ronald) Nishimura of Mililani.
Visitation at 10 a.m., service at 11 a.m., on Wednesday, Sept. 16, at Lihu‘e Christian Church.

John Miles
John Raymond Miles of Kalaheo died Sept. 8, 2009, at his home at age 49. He was born on July 4, 1960, in Chicago.
He was preceded in death by his mother Nancy Miles and his sister Debbie Sheavly.
He is survived by his father Raymond L. Miles, sister Laurie (Eric) Driskill, numerous nieces and nephews.
Friends may visit with the family on Friday, Sept. 18, at Borthwick Mortuary Chapel in Koloa from 2-4 p.m.
