Edward Fujii
Edward Hiroshi Fujii o f Lihu‘e died Sept. 11, 2009, at his home at age 72. Born on Nov. 9, 1936, in Honolulu, he was a meter reader with Kaua‘i Board of Water.
He was preceded in death by his parents Sadayoshi and Grace Fujii.
He is survived by his wife Grace Fujii; sons Clinton (Danette) Fujii of Lihu‘e and Troy (Cori) Fujii of Hilo; daughter Sherri (Wayne) Takamoto of Honolulu; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; brother Raymond (Chiaki) Fujii of Honolulu and sister Clara (Ronald) Nishimura of Mililani.
Visitation at 10 a.m., service at 11 a.m., on Saturday, Sept. 19, at Lihu‘e Christian Church.

John Miles
John Raymond Miles of Kalaheo died Sept. 8, 2009, at his home at age 49. He was born on July 4, 1960, in Chicago.
He was preceded in death by his mother Nancy Miles and his sister Debbie Sheavly.
He is survived by his father Raymond L. Miles, sister Laurie (Eric) Driskill, numerous nieces and nephews.
Friends may visit with the family on Friday, Sept. 18, at Borthwick Mortuary Chapel in Koloa from 2-4 p.m.
David ‘Lamok’ Viquelia
David “Lamok” Viquelia of Los Angeles, Calif., died April 14, 2009, at his home at age 66. Born on Sept. 5, 1942, in Waimea, Kaua‘i, he was a graphic production supervisor.
He is survived by his wife Catherine; sons Davin and Lance; sisters Pauline, Sharon and Angie; stepmother Shirely; brothers Fredrick, Benjamin, Samuel and Ronald.
Viewing from 8-9:15 a.m., reflections from 9:15-10 a.m., Mass from 10-10:45 a.m., on Saturday, Sept. 19, at Sacred Hearts Catholic Church in ‘Ele‘ele. Burial at Hanapepe Veterans Cemetery. Casual attire is suggested.
William Batulayan Sr.
William Agaran Batulayan Sr. of Kapa‘a died Sept. 6, 2009, at his home at age 82. Born on Feb. 12, 1927, in Maui, he was a retired irrigator with Lihu‘e Plantation.
He is survived by his wife Caridad Batulayan of Kapa‘a; sons William (Virginia) Batulayan Jr. and Wilson Batulayan of Kapa‘a; daughters Carwilia (Rustico) Damaso of Lihu‘e, Visitacion (Villamor) Ibanez of Kapa‘a and Modesta (Mario) Baldovino of Kapa‘a; nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Visitation from 9-11 a.m., service to follow, on Saturday, Sept. 19, at Kapa‘a All Saints’ Church. Burial will be at the church cemetery.

Alapai Kolo
Alapai Hui Kolo of Kalihi Valley, died Sept. 7, 2009, at age 78. Born on May 9, 1931, in Lihu‘e, he was a U.S. Army veteran, construction diver for Hawaiian Dredging, akule fisherman with Leo Ohai on the “Libra” and member of the Ark of Safety Christian Fellowship and Kalakaua Rec Center for the disabled.
He is survived by his wife Ruth; son James Peters; daughters LucyAnn Dulak, Katherine Ganiko and Gwendolyn Pascual; grandsons Jared, Justin Peters and Austin Dulak; sisters Mildred Chow, Elsie Kaahaaina, Lillian Agtarap, Louisa “Eta” Brown and Alice Silverman; many nieces and nephews.
Visitation at 5 p.m., Sunday, Sept. 20, 2009, at Mililani Mortuary’s downtown location. Casual attire is suggested. Cremation and Scattering at a later date.
Ralph Morando
Ralph Morando of Koloa died Sept. 13, 2009, at age 71. Born on May 30, 1938, in New York, he was a proto type machinest.
He was preceeded in death by his parents Ralph and Jessie Morando.
He is survived by his wife Sheila Morando of Kaua‘i, sons Mark (Brenda) Morando of Kaua‘i, Stephen (Oahua) Morando of Maui, brothers Anthony (Sharon) Morando of New York and Donald (Andrea) Morando of New York, sister Rosemary Morando of Pennsylvania, grandsons Jason Morando of Santa Barbara, Calif., Ka‘upena and Nakulu‘ai Morando of Pukalani, Maui, and Ka‘iola Farin of Honolulu.

Gwendolyn Rose Bargamento died Sept. 13, 2009, at age 74. She was born on Nov. 4, 1934, in Honolulu.
She was preceded in death by her parents Louis P. Mahelona and Rosella Mahelona; brothers Ronald Mahelona, Stephen Mahelona and Alan Mahelona.
She is survived by her husband Segundino “Glenn” Bargamento; sons Rodney (Linda) Bargamento of Puhi, Ken (Roberta) Bargamento of Kapa‘a and Lyle Bargamento of Kekaha; daughters Debra (Scott) Henton of Wailua, Brenda (John) Keating of Culver City and Vera Bargamento of Kalaheo; grandchildren Bryson Jackson, Anela Bargamento, Linaka (Kaina) Turalde, Beau Henton, Lokene Bargamento, Cameron Bargamento and Elisha Tsubakihara; great-grandchildren Dylan Langley, Coen Langley and Kaelee Turalde; brothers Louis Mahelona, Charles Mahelona and John Mahelona; sisters Barbara (Pete) Loeta, Merrill (Clay) Yonehara and Vivan (Jerry) Almeda.

Dilikano “Dick” Oyamot of Pearl City died Aug. 29, 2009, at age 84. Born in Makaweli, he was a retired machinist at Pearl Harbor Naval Shipyard.
He was preceded in death by his brothers Pedro, Larry, Marcelo, Severino and Alberto Oyamot.
He is survived by his sons Gordon (Bonnie) Oyamot and Bernhardt “Bernie” “Nana‘i” Oyamot; Terri LeSage-Oyamot; daughters Marilani (Fernando) Castro, Berlyn (Robert) Oliveira and Julidean Oyamot; eight grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; sister Gregoria “Gloria” Albarado and brother Luciano “Lucky” Oyamot.

Jim Holbrook of Koloa died on Aug. 28, 2009, in Fort Worth, Texas at age 61. Born on Oct. 4, 1947, in San Antonio, Texas, he owned Hawai‘i Fun Tours and Hawai‘i Web Design.
He was preceded in death by his father George Lesko, mother Faith McNamera Holbrook and stepfather Finley Wilson Holbrook.
He is survived by his sisters Flo Holbrook Hill and Raney Naughton of Fort Worth, brother Finley Wilson Holbrook Jr., nephews Jason Hill and Timmy Naughton and niece Jessica Hill.
Services were held in Fort Worth, Texas, on Sept. 4. The family requests donations to be made to the American Cancer Society.
Chiyomi Marugame
Chiyomi Kuboyama Marugame of Lihu‘e died Sept. 12, 2009, at Samuel Mahelona Memorial Hospital at age 87. Born April 5, 1922, in Lihu‘e, she was a cashier with Foodland.
She was preceded in death by her parents Kotaro and Kuni Kuboyama; brothers Katsuyuki Kuboyama, Koji Kuboyama and Kashiko Kuboyama; sisters Hatsumi Haraguchi and Matsue Kitashima.
She is survived by husband Toraichi Marugame; sons Clyde (Eloise) Marugame of Honolulu and Lance (Aileen Hirata) Marugame of Honolulu; daughters Sharon (Clarence) Nonaka of Lihu‘e, Coleen (Stanley Sr.) Morinaka of Lihu‘e and Nan (Leroy) Sakaguchi of Lihu‘e; grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Visitation at 9:30 a.m., service at 10 a.m., on Saturday, Sept. 26, at Lihu‘e Missionary Church. The family requests that flowers be omitted.

Patrocinio Yadao Ragasa died Aug. 26, 2009, at Wilcox Memorial Hospital. Born on July 23, 1931, in Sinait, Ilocos Sur, Philippines, she was a retired housekeeper.
She was preceded in death by her parents Rosario and Flaviana Yadao and brother Arturo Yadao.
She is survived by her husband Rafael Ibe Ragasa Sr. of Puhi; sister Dolores (Elpidio) Tangonan of the Philippines; son Rafael Ragasa Jr. of Puhi; daughters Linda (Joe) Velasco of Kapolei and Carol (Matt) Beadle of Puhi; grandchildren Stephanie, Ericka, CJ, Kelsie, Tierney, Tayden, Treysyn and Tiare; sisters-in-law Elena Ragasa of the Philippines, Josephine (Felix) Iloreta of Kapa‘a, Caridad Asuncion of Las Vegas; brother-in-law Rosario (Violeta) Ragasa of Moloka‘i; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.

Lennox “Rico” Frederick Camat Sr. of Kapa‘a died Sept. 1, 2009, at his home at age 65. Born on Oct. 21, 1943, in Kaua‘i, he was a retired forestry worker for the State of Hawai‘i.
He is survived by his wife Afton Nagao Camat; sons Lennox (Nani) Camat Jr. and Lenny (Duchess) Camat; daughter Raenette “Miko” (Jessie) Camat and Amy Nagao; brothers Melvin Camat and Wayne “Masa” Camat; sisters Beverley Camat and Waynette “Lena” Camat; 15 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.
