Elliott Rosenblum
Elliott Michael Rosenblum of Kilauea died Aug. 31, 2009, at his home at age 57. Born on April 2, 1952, in New York, he was an architect.
He is survived by his companion Dr. Mark Nesselson, children Ella Rosenblum and Cole Nesselson and brother David Rosenblum.
A private memorial service was held at his home on Sept. 1, 2009. A pubic memorial service will be held in New York in October.
Kaua‘i Memorial Gardens and Funeral Home assisted the Rosenblum family arrangements.
Heather Newhouse
Heather Elizabeth Louise Newhouse of Kilauea died Sept. 7, 2009, at her home at age 56. Born on July 1, 1953, in Melbourne, Australia, she was employed by Menehune Mart in Kilauea as a cashier.
She is survived by her son Mark Newhouse of Australia; daughters Talitha (Andrew) Byram of Kilauea, Danielle Newhouse of Kilauea; mother Alice Jeeves; brothers Bruce (Julie) Jeeves, Andrew (Kelly) Jeeves all of Melbourne, Australia; grandchildren Jessica Bailey, Bodie Bailey, Chris Byram, Malia Byram, Nicholas Byram, Mitchell Hughes and Amber Hughes; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Services will be held at a later date.
Kauai Memorial Gardens & Funeral Home assisted the Newhouse family with arrangements.
Tsugiyo Shiraki
Tsugiyo “Helen” Shiraki of Lihu‘e died on Sept. 4, 2009, at Garden Isle Health Care at age 94. Born on Aug. 1, 1915, in Kealia, she retired from Kaua‘i Surf.
She is survived by her daughter Gladys Sugihara of Lihu‘e; son Clarence (Katherine) Shiraki of Lihu‘e; four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Private services were held.

Masayo Hamamoto
Masayo Hamamoto of Lihu‘e died Aug. 30, 2009.
She was preceded in death by her husband Shinichi Hamamoto.
She is survived by children Lois Hamamoto of Albuquerque, N.M. and Glenda (F. Berry Hayley) Hamamoto Hayley of Coral Gables, Fla.; two grandsons; one granddaughter and one great-granddaughter; sister Sally Hayashida of Lihu‘e and brother George Matsumoto of Honolulu.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., on Friday, Sept. 18, 2009, at the Lihu‘e Hongwanji Mission.

Elizabeth Correa
Elizabeth M. “Lee” Correa died Aug. 22, 2009, in Kane‘ohe, Hawai‘i, at age 96. Born on Dec. 26, 1912, in Kilauea, Kaua‘i, she was a homemaker.
She is survived by her sons Robert (Mitsuko) of Japan, George (Janet) of Wahiawa, Herbert (Thelma) and Wallace (Shirley) of Honolulu; daughter Elizabeth (Fumio) Eguchi of Miami, Fla.; stepchildren Gilbert Jr., Clyde Correa and Patsy Ortiz; sisters Hilda Silva and Caroline Kuret; 20 grandchildren, 36 great-grandchildren and 11 great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation at 9:30 a.m., on Thursday, Sept. 17, at St. Theresa’s Catholic Church in Kekaha, Kaua‘i. Burial to follow at Kekaha Cemetery.
Alapai Kolo
Alapai Hui Kolo of Kalihi Valley, died Sept. 7, 2009, at age 78. Born on May 9, 1931, in Lihu‘e, he was a U.S. Army veteran, Construction Diver for Hawaiian Dredging, Akule Fisherman with Leo Ohai on the “Libra” and member of the Ark of Safety Christian Fellowship and Kalakaua Rec Center for the disable.
He is survived by his wife Ruth; son James Peters; daughters LucyAnn Dulak, Katherine Ganiko and Gwendolyn Pascual; grandsons Jared, Justin Peters and Austin Dulak; sisters Mildred Chow, Elsie Kaahaaina, Lillian Agtarap, Louisa “Eta” Brown and Alice Silverman; many nieces and nephews.
Visitation at 5 p.m., Sunday, Sept. 20, at Mililani Mortuary Downtown location. Casual attire is suggested. Cremation and Scattering at a later date.
