Alan K. Mahelona of Anahola died Aug. 26, 2009, at his home at age 53. He was born on Sept. 5, 1955, in Honolulu.
He is survived by his brothers George (Janice) Mahelona, Charles (Karen) Mahelona, John (Sue) Mahelona; sisters Gwen (Glenn) Bargamento, Barbara Leota, Merriel (Clay) Yonahara, Vivian (Jerry) Almeida; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Visitation is at 9 a.m., Sept. 19, 2009, at Kaua‘i Veterans Cemetery Pavilion. Memorial services are from 9:30-10:15 a.m.; inurnment to follow.
Alice Takaki
Alice Miyono Takaki of ‘Ele‘ele died Sept. 2, 2009, at Kaua‘i Veterans Memorial Hospital at age 91. Born on Nov. 22, 1917, in Hanapepe, she was a sales clerk at Kaua‘i Surf.
She was preceded in death by her husband Masaji Takaki.
She is survived by her sons Marvin (Lana) Takaki of Gardena, Calif. and Alvin (Margie) Takaki of Torrance, Calif.; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; brother Wallace (Fusako) Yatagai of Gardena, Calif.; sisters Clara Ueno of Waimea and Hisako Kawado of Kaneohe; numerous nieces and nephews.
Services were private.
Arrangements are being handled by Garden Island Mortuary Ltd.
