James Gill
James “Jimmy” David Gill of Kapa‘a died June 28, 2009, at Wilcox Memorial Hospital at age 19. Born Dec. 2, 1989, in Newburyport, Mass., he was a student at Humbolt State University.
He was preceded in death by his father David Gill and grandmother Anne Gill.
He is survived by his parents Adam and Michelle King of Kapa‘a; sister Christina King of Kapa‘a; grandparents Barbara Whittier and Benjamin Lastimosa; Merlon Gill, Leonard (Kay) Desmarais, Craig (Andrea) King and Cynthis (Pat) Nixon.
A celebration of his life will be at 4 p.m., Wednesday, July 15, at Kukui‘ula Boat Harbor. In lieu of flowers please make donation honoring James Gill to YWCA or Life Bridges of Kaua‘i.
Arrangements are being made by Borthwick Kaua‘i Mortuary.
Mildred Vaughn
Mildred Lumabao Vaughn of Brownsburg, Ind., died June 24, 2009, at age 71. Born Nov. 20, 1937, in Waimea, Kaua‘i, she was a certified nursing assistant at Danville Regional Rehabilitation Center.
She was preceded in death by her infant son Charles Vaughn, parents Prospero and Sally Lumabao, brother Edward Lumabao and sister Shirley Barino.
She is survived by her daughters Patricia (Ron) Carrington, Brenda (Willard) Barnett and Laura (David) Thompson; brothers Mauricio Agtuca Jr. and George (Lynette) Lumabao; sister-in-law Violet Lumabao, brother-in-law Anjil Barino Jr., six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Viewing from noon to 2 p.m., with service at 2 p.m., Monday, June 29, at Matthews Mortuary in Brownsburg, Ind. Burial at Brownsburg Cemetery.
Aloha attire suggested.

Marian Agena
Marian “Ma” Panui Agena of Lihu‘e died July 5, 2009, at Garden Isle Healthcare at age 89. Born in Nawiliwili on Aug. 12, 1919, she was a retired waitress at Kaua‘i Surf Hotel.
She was preceded in death by her husband Shiro “Bob” Agena; parents James Ku and Lilia Panui; brothers James Ku Panui Sr., George Panui, Harry Panui, Edward Panui, Henry Panui; sisters Julie Naito, Lily Grillot and Emma Anana.
She is survived by daughters Maureen (Raymond) Rapozo of Lihu‘e, Lois (Steven) Plahy of Honolulu, sons Lawrence (Audrey) Agena of Honolulu and Robert (Tassie) Agena of Lihu‘e, nine grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, one great-great grandchild, sister-in-law Alice Panui of Kapa‘a, brother-in-law Raymond Grillot of Las Vegas, Nev., numerous nieces and nephews.
Private services were held.
Arrangements were handled by Borthwick Kaua‘i Mortuary.
Elsie Pamulo
Elsie Yago Pamulo died June 21, 2009, at Wilcox Memorial Hospital at age 39. Born Sept. 3, 1969, in Sinait, Philippines, she was a cargo agent and crew chief with Aloha Air Cargo.
She was preceded in death by her father Romeo Pamulo.
She is survived by her mother Emilia Pamulo; sister Romelyn (Jose) Pamulo-Pena; brother Romeo (Angela) Pamulo; friend Marcy Fontanilla; nephews Chyson Pena, Colbey Pena; Isabella Lyons.
Visitation from 6-9 p.m., service at 7 p.m., Friday, July 17, at Borthwick Kaua‘i Mortuary Chapel, Koloa.
Visitation at 8:30 a.m., Mass at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, July 18, at St. Catherine’s Church in Kapa‘a. Burial to follow at Kaua‘i Memorial Gardens.

William Rapozo
William Rapozo of Kapa‘a died June 30, 2009, on O‘ahu at age 82. Born Jan. 12, 1927, in Kilauea, he retired as a machinist for Hawaiian Fruit Packers.
He was preceded in death by his parents Antone and Rosalia Correia Rapozo.
He is survived by his daughter Valerie (Raymond) Ornellas; grandchildren Shaylyn (Jan) Kimura, Raynelle (Chris) Hochuli, Kanani (Dustin) Troop, Preston Ornellas, Chelsea Ornellas, Sherry and Keola Laride;12 great-grandchildren; sister Katherine Silva of Maui; brothers-in-law Val Freitas of California, Gene Evans of Maui and Kalani Tachibana of Kaua‘i.
Graveside services will be held at 10:30 a.m., July 20, at the National Cemetery of the Pacific at Punchbowl.
