Grace Apana
Grace Leolani Apana of Kapa‘a died April 22, 2009, at Pali Momi Hospital at age 70. Born Feb. 27, 1939, in Lihu‘e, she was an executive/part owner of Smith’s Motor Boat Services.
She was preceded in death by her husband Ronald K.H. Apana Sr.
She is survived by son Boy; daughters Puanani (Duane) Wakuta, Suzie (Keali‘i) Dabin, Momi (Francis) Kapana and Chanel (Tim) Higgins; brother Walter “Freckles” (Moki) Smith Jr.; sisters Pelma Larsen, Charlotte Kaui; grandchildren Tehani, Chivas, Shaundy, Shawna, Jetsen, Chandis, Kia, Keanu, Chaz, Chassidy, Kaeo and Duaney Boy; great-granddaughter Khloe; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation 1-2:45 p.m. on Saturday, May 16, at Kapa‘a First Hawaiian Church; services begin at 3 p.m.
Burial to follow at Kaua‘i Memorial Gardens.

Robert Lear
Robert “Robbie” Lear of Kapa‘a died April 18, 2009, at home at age 84. Born April 15, 1925, in Cleveland, Ohio, he was a retired real estate broker with Kaua‘i real estate companies.
He is survived by son Vance Lear of San Francisco, Calif., and numerous friends.

Nicholas “Nick” Rapozo of Kilauea died April 25, 2009, at Wilcox Memorial Hospital at age 91. Born Dec. 6, 1917, in Kilauea, he retired as senior accountant from Kilauea Sugar Plantation.
He was preceded in death by brothers Joseph (Mary A.), Eddie, Raymond and Frank Jr.; and sister Mary “Girlie”.
He is survived by wife Ellen; son Paul of Pasadena, Calif.; daughters Judy and Dale of Kilauea; sisters-in-law Mary R. Rapozo of Wailua and Emily Rapozo of Kapahi; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation 9-9:45 a.m. on Saturday, May 2, at St. Sylvester’s Church in Kilauea; Mass at 10 a.m.
Burial at 11:45 a.m. at Kaua‘i Memorial Gardens and Funeral Home.

Cresencia Llego of Kapa‘a died April 25, 2009, at Garden Isle HealthCare. Born Dec. 14, 1914, in Pangasinan, Philippines, she was a laborer with Lihu‘e Plantation.
She is survived by sons Romualdo (Carmen) Llego of Kapa‘a, Hilario (Theodora) Llego of Kapa‘a, Lodevico (Rebecca) Llego of Kapa‘a, Elpidio (May) Llego of Alaska and Josue (Jesusa) Llego of Kapa‘a; daughters Pelagia (Bernard) Suetos of Kapa‘a, Finalrin (Perfecto) Andres of Kapa‘a, Jane (Jimmy) Udaundo of Kapa‘a and Ester (Romulo) Dacuycuy of Kapa‘a; 22 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; sister Felomina Bumatay Rivera of Philippines; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

She is survived by husband Mariano Castillo; sons Orlino (Lydia) Castillo of Yorba Linda, Calif., and Romy Castillo of Kalaheo; daughters Mary (Tom) Duncanson of Bandon, Ore., Teresita (David) Jones of Lahabra Heights, Calif.; sisters Damasa Corpuz of the Philippines and Juliana Lagundino of the Philippines; 10 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren.
