Telesforo Galiza of Makaweli died April 30, 2009, at Kaua‘i Veterans Memorial Hospital at age 88. He was a laborer for the sugar plantation industry.
He is survived by wife Marina Cablayan Galiza, son Jonathan Galiza, one brother in the Philippines and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation 9 a.m. on Tuesday, May 5, at Waimea United Church of Christ; service at 10 a.m.

Rose Napuananiakealoha Kanahele of Anahola died April 23, 2009, at Wilcox Memorial Hospital at age 65. Born Nov. 21, 1943, in Pu‘uwai, Ni‘ihau, she was a homemaker
She was preceded in death by husband Iubile Kanahele Sr.
She is survived by sons Iubile K. Kanahele Jr. (Charla) of Oklahoma, Herman Kanahele of Seattle, Wash., Wayne Kanahele (Nancy) of Nanakuli, Elvis Kanahele (Melody) of Hanapepe; daughters Wanda Kanahele of Oregon, Linda Kanahele of Kapa‘a, Denise Kanahele (Steven) of Kekaha, Rose Palakiko (Daniel Jr.) of Anahola and Bettylou Pahulehua (Junior) of Kekaha; 35 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; brothers Michael Kaiwi (Louis) of Anahola, Ben Kaiwi of Honolulu, George Kaiwi of Kwajilein Island and Eugene Kaiwi of Anahola; sisters Emalia Kanahele of Kekaha, Isabella Matayoshi of Anahola, Salala Kaiwi of Kekaha and Myra Silva of Anahola; and numerous uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation 9-10 a.m. on Saturday, May 2, at Garden Island Mortuary Chapel; service 10 a.m.
Burial at Kekaha Hawaiian Cemetery
Casual attire is suggested and flowers are being accepted.

David Yata
David H. Yata of Kapa‘a died April 27, 2009, at Wilcox Memorial Hospital at age 83. Born July 17, 1925, in Kealia, he was a retired welder with Rego Trucking Company.
He is survived by wife Carmelita I. Yata; son Glen (Lezlie) Yata of California; stepson Alvin I. Ortanez of Las Vegas, Nev.; daughters Sheila (Clint) Saiki of Wailua and Linda (John) Planas of Hanapepe; nine grandchildren; brother Wilson Yata of Kapa‘a; sisters Edna (Ed) Horiuchi of Honolulu and Rose (James) Fushikoshi of Honolulu; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation 8-10 a.m. on Monday, May 4, at Garden Island Mortuary Chapel; service at 10 a.m.
