Tied with four others at 60th place, Kua was the University of Hawai‘i Manoa’s highest-place finisher. Teammates competing as individuals were fellow freshmen Pono Calip who finished at 23-over 239, Jarred Sawada who finished 24-over 240 and Robert Berton who finished with a 26-over 242.
Hilo’s highest-place finisher was Logan Goulding who shot a 2-over 74 in the final round to finish at 10-over 226.
Nick Taylor of Washington was the individual winner with a final-round 2-under 72 to put him at 6-under 210. He was followed by Jamie Lovemark of USC who finished at 3-under 69 for the day, 5-under 211 for the tournament.
Hilo as a team, finished in 13th place with a final tally of 910.
Manoa finished in 17th place in the overall team competition with a score of 947. Three UH golfers competed as individuals — senior Chase Bingham (81-87-78 — 246), sophomore Daniel Soglanich (87-83-81 —251), and senior Cody Pewarchuk (87-92-79 — 258).
Second-ranked USC won the team title with an overwhelming 13-under 851 — 11 shots better than the second-place finishers from Washington who finished at 2-under 862.
