Kaua‘i’s T.J. Kua remains the University of Hawai‘i Manoa’s top golfer in the second round of the UH-Hilo Intercollegiate Invitational at the Mauna Lani Resort North Couse in Kamuela, Big Island. Despite shooting a second-round 81 on Thursday, Kua’s combined score is 157 to put him tied in 69th place.
As a team, the Warriors shot a second-round 328 for a 642 total.
They sit in 17th place overall, in a competition stacked with Top 20 programs such as USC, Stanford, Washington, Colorado and Texas Tech.
Hilo’s Rodolfo Estrada is the highest place local so far. He shot a second-round 79 for a two-day total of 145. He sits tied with five others in 13th place.
