Three of Hawai‘is young surfers remain in the Billabong Association of Surfing Professionals World Junior Men’s Championships in North Narrabeen, Australia.
Granger Larsen, Kiron Jabour and Kai Barger will surf in Round 4 when competition resumes. The afternoon was reserved for the women to complete their competition.
“The surf is bigger in the 4-foot range,” Al Hunt, ASP tour manager, said. “The wind is back to the south but swinging northeast. We’re going to take advantage of the conditions on offer and run straight through to the final this afternoon, crowning a new ASP World Junior Champion. Round 4 will begin at 8 a.m. and we’ve got some very dramatic match-ups. We’re anticipating a great day of surfing.”
Earlier in the competition, Maui’s Tonino Benson, Kaua‘i’s Sebastian Zietz and the Big Island’s Casey Brown were eliminated in Round 3.
