The Arc of Kaua‘i got a financial boost when Kathy Miyake and Clyde Nakata presented Arc director Ellen Ching with a $5,000 check, Thursday.
Miyake and Nakata represent Central Pacific Bank, which has been partnering with the Arc of Kaua‘i for the past several years in hosting the Arc golf tournament.
It will be on June 22 at the Po‘ipu Bay Golf Course.
With two weeks remaining before the golfers tee off, Ching said the tournament still has room for at least a dozen more two-man teams.
Additionally, corporate sponsorships are always welcome, Ching said.
To register for the tournament, golfers can call Liz Ann Vidinha at 245-4132.
“This year, the tournament committee hopes to match last year’s goal of $30,000,” Ching said in an e-mail.
“Last year, more than 109 children and adults with developmental disabilities were provided with services and assistance,” she said.
The Arc/CPB golf tournament is the only fund-raising event in the year.
Corporate sponsorships include $125 for a hole sponsor. Contributions of $500 to $699 earns a silver sponsorship and $700 to $999 earns a gold sponsorship.
A Platinum sponsor, contributions of $1,000 to $1,999, gets two complimentary players in the tournament and a Diamond sponsor, contributions of $2,000 or more, gets four complimentary players.
