During the month of June, Kaua‘i residents will receive 2008 Water Quality Reports from the Department of Water.
The reports contain basic information on each of the 11 water systems on Kaua‘i, including source(s) of water, levels of contaminants and compliance with drinking water rules.
The county states that Kaua‘i‘s water meets all of the Environmental Protection Agency’s guidelines for safe drinking water and any contaminants found during testing were well below the highest levels allowed by the EPA.
The Safe Water Drinking Act, a federal law, requires water utilities to provide water quality information to its customers every year.
