Hardwood flooring outlet Wisteria Lane opened the doors to its Lihu‘e location this week.
Wisteria Lane, a trademark brand of Builders Home Supply, offers a factory-direct resource for exotic hardwood flooring for contractors as well as consumers.
Hardwood flooring has a lot of advantages, said O‘ahu sales associate Ali‘i Napoleon. In addition to being easier to maintain, it also offers health benefits for people with allergies and increases the value of the home.
“We have something for everyone,” Napoleon said. “Our product fits the needs and price point of both contractors as well as the do-it-yourselfer.”
Among the laminate products being offered are koa, mango, monkeypod, golden monkeypod and bamboo. There’s also solid and engineered hardwood flooring and wood veneer.
One of the company’s newer products is strand-woven bamboo, which is extremely hard.
Bamboo strands are first immersed in glue, and through a process of heat and pressure, results in a durable product.
During a demonstration, Napoleon said it can even be used on exterior decking where it will withstand the rigors of weather.
With stores located on O‘ahu and Maui, the outlet located at the intersection of Rice and Hardy streets in Lihu‘e becomes the firm’s third.
“We’re working on opening another store on Maui, and when we open our fifth store on the Big Island, our business plan will be complete,” owner Ohelo Kaopio said at the grand opening ceremony Thursday.
Kimo Tejada is the Kaua‘i store’s office manager, with Nadine Tamayose and Stephen Czapla heading the sales force.
The location will initially be open from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Mondays through Fridays. Saturday hours are under consideration, as are informational seminars on flooring and the exotic hardwood flooring materials.
