The Kaua‘i Interscholastic Federation champions that finished their regular season with an 11-1 record enjoys an opening day bye Wednesday when the Wally Yonamine Foundation Baseball State Championships-Division II opens at the Les Murakami Stadium at the University of Hawai‘i at Manoa.
The Red Raiders will see action on Thursday when it meets the winner of the Kahuku and Kohala matchup starting at 1 p.m.
No. 2 seed for the division is St. Anthony with Waipahu getting the No. 3 seed. Honoka‘a rounds out the division leaders as No. 4.
Other teams competing in the Hawai‘i High School Athletic Association state championships include Radford, Moloka‘i, Hawai‘i Prep, Maryknoll, Konawaena and Kalaheo high schools.
The state championship for Division II is scheduled for 4 p.m. Saturday at the Les Murakami Stadium.
Punahou is the top seed for Division I followed by Pearl City getting the No. 2 seed. Waiakea and Maui round out the division as No. 3 and No. 4, respectively.
Other teams competing in Division I include Castle, Roosevelt, Kailua, Kamehameha Schools-Big Island, Mid-Pacific Institute, Aiea, St. Louis and Baldwin high schools.
The championship game for the Division I title is scheduled for 7 p.m., Saturday.
