Bienvenida A. Barut of Kapa‘a died April 28, 2008, at Wilcox Memorial Hospital at the age of 86. Born Oct. 21, 1921, in the Philippines, she was a laborer.
She was preceded in death by husband Julio Barut.
She is survived by sons Andres (Estefamia) Barut of the Philippines, Apolinario (Dolores) Barut Sr. of the Philippines and Felizardo Barut of Hanama‘ulu; daughters Concepcion Calivo of the Philippines, Mata Mercario of the Philippines, Julia Barut of Kapa‘a, Cloria (Nelwin) Flores of Kapa‘a, and Elisa (Isabelo) Duran of Kapa‘a; brother Arsenio (Antonina) Aseret of O‘ahu; 15 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Wednesday, May 7, at Immaculate Conception Church; prayer services will be at 7 p.m. Casual attire is suggested. Burial will take place at a later date in the Philippines.
Borthwick Kauai Mortuary is handling the arrangements.
Placencio “Pacing” Adviento of Hanama‘ulu died at home on April 23, 2008, at the age of 89. Born Dec. 2, 1918, in the Philippines, he was retired from Wilcox Hospital and Coco Palms Hotel.
He is survived by wife Isabel Adviento, son John (Mary) Adviento, grandsons Keoni and Keoki Adviento, sister Mercedes Burcena, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Memorial services will be held on Saturday, May 10, at Immaculate Conception Church. Visitation with the family will be held from 8 a.m. to 9:45 a.m. Mass at 10 a.m. with burial to follow at Kauai Memorial Gardens.
Kauai Memorial Gardens & Funeral Home is assisting the Adviento family with arrangements.
