Fukuichi Hokama of Kapa‘a died on April 29, 2008, at Wilcox Memorial Hospital at the age of 86.
Born on Dec. 1, 1921, in Honolulu, he was an agriculture technician with the University of Hawai‘i Extension Service
He was preceded in death by wife Misao Hokama; and son Wayne Hokama.
He is survived by daughters Joyce (Katsumi) Kobayashi of Kohala, Hawai‘i, JoAnn (Neal) Inamasu of Kihei, Maui, and Irene (David) Lamaku of Vista, Calif.; seven grandchildren; brothers Kiyoshi Hokama of Tacoma, Wash., and Edward Arashiro of Los Angeles; sisters Jane Mizumoto of Honolulu, Nell Berberich of Brea, Calif., and Lillian Klee of Fullerton, Calif.; and numerous uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Friends may visit with the family at 3 p.m. on Thursday, May 8, at the Kapaa United Church of Christ; service at 4 p.m.
Casual attire is suggested.
Arrangements are being handled by Garden Island Mortuary Ltd.

Margaret Ann Lydgate Rinker died on April 28, 2008, at Cottesmore of Life Care in Gig Harbor, Wash., at the age of 77.
She was born in Lihu‘e.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert N. Rinker.
She is survived by daughters Melody Rae Rinker of Eugene, Ore., Deborah Lei (Frank) Sims of Longview, Wash., and Jennifer Lee Rinker of Graham, Wash.; sisters Lois (Fred) Colemand of Ha‘ena and Joan (Matt) Burns of Oak Harbor, Wash.; three grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews and their children.
A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, May 10, at the Northshore Christian Church, located at Kauai Christian Academy, 4000 Kilauea Road in Kilauea.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Kauai Hospice or the National Parkinson Foundation.
