Lari Dee Guy and Jackie Hobbs, two world champion cowgirls, will be here to share some of their techniques with Kaua‘i wahine ropers and ready-to-be ropers.
A press release from the Kaua‘i All Girls Rodeo Association states that the pair will host a two-day rodeo roping clinic at the Farias Arena in Kapa‘a on May 9 and 10.
Guy is an 11-time American Juniors Rodeo Association Breakaway Roping World Champion and an official National Ropers Supply instructor with numerous AJRA World Championships in Team Roping awards under her belt.
Guy holds the title of 2003 Team Roping Champion.
Hobbs is one of the top-ranked professional cowgirls in tie-down and dally team roping, states the press release.
The roping clinic will run from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on both days with all ropers receiving individual instruction from the pair.
Additionally, the Texas cowgirls will bring ropes for sale as well as a mechanical practice steer.
Livestock will be available for practice sessions.
Cost for the clinic is $350 for both days with a $25 discount for immediate family members.

The next KAGRA rodeo will be held Sunday at the Kealia Arena located across from the Kealia Beach park.
The public is invited to view the competition from 10 a.m. at no cost.
A lunch wagon will be available for refreshments.
